WOW!! It feels like just the other day I was having my phone interview with the World race, thinking how far away training camp was, and how I had all the time in the world to raise my first $5,000. Well HELLO because training camp is now 23 days away, and my first $5,000 is due in 4 days. Crazy how fast time flies.
Last weekend I graduated high school, and a month before that I played my last official soccer game. About 5 weeks ago I was given the opportunity to talk in front of some of the families of the girls I play soccer with. I explained what I was going to be doing while on the race, where I will be going, and how much I need to raise. It was the first time I’ve spoken in front of more than 5 people about it, and honestly I was nervous. At first I couldn’t catch up with my words, but as time went on I regained the ability to think and speak at the same time. All that to say it was a learning opportunity and I’m thankful for it.
