Swaziland, South Africa
•in Swaziland our ministry was the Anchor Center, which was where we lived.
•Tuesday through Friday we would go to our care point (a place where children of all ages get to go and have fellowship and receive a meal, most of the time we just played with the little ones and talked with the older kids, building relationships.)
•Every night JR FLOSS had kitchen ministry – we got to cook with two incredible ladies (who are still famous on U squad; Faith and Dole) who taught us so much about patience and productivity. We got to cook for our lovely squad mates and leaders each night, serving them.
•With the Anchor Center being our ministry, we got to help the sweet office ladies (we love you guys) with their work sometimes! We would go to different care points and help them do some profiling (we took their picture and their name and grade and entered them in the system) and we also got to pour into them and just have sweet fellowship and community.
Kathmandu, Nepal
I know a lot of you are wondering what the heck happened in Nepal and trust me I’m seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit on what to say and how to say it. Nepal offered a lot of growth but with that came struggle upon struggle. Trust me I’m trying to form a blog to post, thanks for being so patient!
•In Nepal our ministry looked different every day. Some days we would go to Buddhist and Hindu temples and intercede in behalf of the people so stuck in tradition and trapped in fear.
•Other days we would go to safe houses and women’s homes and speak to abandoned and broken women and tell them of the ways that the Lord redeems and calls us home. Such freedom came from sharing of the truth that we are sons and daughters of the most high. And that to our Father, we will always be royalty.
•We also got to stop into some orphanages and share the love of Christ by spending time with the sweet kiddos and showing them how loved they are. Jesus loves all His little children!!
•We has the pleasure of going to a leprosy colony and sharing the gospel with a sweet old lady who ended up giving her life to Christ!! (Wohoo for a new sister!!) these people are full of joy and they gave me so much hope for the people of Nepal.
•We has the opportunity of visiting drug rehabilitation centers and encouraging the patients with the testimony’s of how Jesus has saved us from addiction and redeemed us.
Chitwan, Nepal
I wasn’t in Chitwan for the full length of time because I ended up getting sick and having to travel back to Kathmandu. For the time I was there, this is what I did!
•While in Chitwan, we visited homes and shared testimony’s of the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness. Our sweet host went everywhere with us and made us feel more love that we thought possible.
•When we got sick we all had to have our blood drawn and she was so attentive to each of our needs. She walked in the room with us and held us until it was over. This woman is such a vessel for the Lord’s love and kindness.
Northeast, India
My time here is almost up and I feel like I got here yesterday! This place has been a gift and I could not be praising Him more for the way that He has shown His goodness and faithfulness here.
•When arriving to India we were greeted with liaisons, the sweetest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet in your life. Leaders who have become forever friends. They take us each day to our ministry locations.
•Here in India, we have visited Christian schools and discipled sweet children. We have taught them how to obey and respect authority while also assuring them that it’s okay to be a kid and mess and play around! The children here are sweet and they hunger for more of the Father. Each class I taught (though difficult at times) was such a sweet treat.
•We visit our local hospital and fold gauze, make envelopes, make cotton balls, and deliver words of encouragement to recovering patients. Our time spent at the hospital has provided opportunities for my team to bond and just have a good time together. Restful and rejuvenating.
•CHURCH CONSTRUCTION!!! This has been a blast! Being the church while building up the church (literally). Moving bricks and piles of sand across a construction site has been so fruitful. Seeing the tangible difference U squad has been making over the past two months has been so humbling.
•Conversational English, we get to sit down on the lawn of TCS and have God honoring conversations with the students that attend the college. We can help with their English and just have a good ol’ time talking about our Heavenly Father and the ways that He has been there for us. So many brothers and sisters who thirst for more of His character.
•One day VBS!!
Everybody’s favorite day here is Saturday! This means one day VBS. We get to go put on a vacation bible school for so many kiddos every Saturday. We show them Jesus’ love by putting on skits, getting down funky and loose, and finding all the chickens.
•AGAPE
Man oh man so many bold brothers. Agape is a rehab center that we got to visit multiple times, building up relationships, falling on our face (wait, was I the only one?), and glorifying God by having conversations that please His ears. Here we played volleyball, worshiped and talked of all the ways that Jesus has SAVED us from sin, taken away temptation and renewed us in His spirit.
GUATEMALA
teehee just kidding, we still have 7 DAYS IN INDIA!!!! I am SO expectant that the Lord is going to move BIG TIME in Guat! My squad and I are so excited for this next season!
With a full heart,
Lucy Jackson
