I am so excited to introduce my team to you! We call ourselves the Ladies of the Sea (Southeast Asia). Here goes nothing…
Alyse
Let me tell you, Alyse is a sweetheart. Her favorite color is yellow, her laugh is contagious, and she watches Modern Family with me, so of course I love her. She’s honest and open, taking the word “vulnerability“ and running with it. Her heart for the Lord and others is so special to watch grow every day, and encourages the rest of the team to love like Jesus does.
Kate
Kate is a fierce friend to all. She walks in boldness and grace, and is confident in her faith and love for the Lord. She’s sarcastic and giggly- a great combination, in my opinion -and has the special gift of making anyone laugh. Kate is the first person to try a strange food or to jump into a spontaneous dance party, but most importantly, she is the fearless killer of all unwelcome insects.
Kat
As the “puppy“ of the group, Kat is loving, loyal, and sweet. She welcomes all with open arms and a huge smile, making everyone in her presence feel seen and cared for. She listens intently without judgement, accepting us as we are. Kat’s faith is so grounded and mature, and she never hesistates to share it with anyone. And with a suitcase weighing in at a whopping 68 lbs, she has everything we could ever need and so joyfully shares it with the team!
Steph
As my co-teacher, I get the honor of watching Steph serve selflessly every day. She is obviously a natural leader and teacher, as she can come up with a lesson plan off the top of her head and is so passionate about the students. She is intentional in everything she does, and because of that, her relationships and actions are deep and meaningful. Steph carries joy and peace wherever she goes, and everyone around her is better for it.
Kaitlin
Kaitlin is a special gift from God. He has blessed her with a quiet strength that keeps our team grounded, while her courageous faith pushes us all to constantly lean into the Lord and step out in boldness. She brings wisdom and maturity, but can also hit the dance floor and be silly with the kids. Kaitlin also graciously shares all of her lollipops with us, and we will be forever grateful.
Oriolyne (not pictured)
As our leader, Oriolyne exemplifies true trust in God (she found out she was leading this trip six days before leaving!), and her relationship with Him motivates us all to dive into the Bible and become powerful prayer warriors. She dances freely and sings proudly, loves deeply and leads fearlessly. She constantly pushes us all to grow in our identity in Christ, and I can already see changes in us because of her.
And that’s it! I love this team, and truly believe that God placed us all together for a million reasons. Our time together has already been so sweet, and it’s only the beginning.
