For those reading this that don’t know—my bestie forever, Milena has been this journey called the World Race simultaneous to me. We launched out of Atlanta at the same time and said our very last goodbye in the security line. While in Swaziland for three months she was in Ecuador and Peru. While she was in Guatemala for three months I was in Nepal and India. And now. We have switched continents, cultures, and almost the same countries. I will be finishing the World Race spening three months in Guatemala and she will finish hers with three months in Cambodia (culturally similar to Nepal I’ve been told, weather wise, VERY different).

Coming into Guatemala I was excited because this is the one country we are both sharing! I am excited to experience similar things and relate on a new level when we arrive home. God has truly blessed us with each other to go through this—together but separate.

All seven teams for the next three months have their own village that they will be pouring into and doing ministries such as: teaching English, Bible studies, construction, kids ministries, house visits, evangelism, etc! My team will taking an hour long bus ride every day to the village of Caldarros! The same village Milena had! HOW COOL IS GOD???? For real, Milena and I will now be able to relate on a new level and experience similar things. I miss her but I am so confident God has me here right now for a reason and had her here as season before for a reason. Dude, if you’re reading this I miss you so much.

We have the most beautiful drive to ministry—two volcanoes in view and a full view of the neighboring towns below. My team will mainly focus on teaching English for the next three months. Liz and I have the privilege to teach the older girls (we are yet to do this) and we both can not wait to pour into and love on those girls! Our ministry host is a spunky, loving married couple, Elsa and Angel and they have a sweet daughter around our age! The last few days we have been getting to know them mostly and today we started making flyers for our English classes to be handed out soon!

I am beyond excited to see what God does within this ministry the next few months. Before anything though, I am SO EXCITED I GET TO SEE MY SWEET MOM AND DAD IN THREE DAYS!!!!

Sorry.

I can’t hold the excitement in.

Guatemala is a lottttt different than India and Nepal and Swaziland. Culture shock is a real thing and let me tell you, I am adjusting still. Driving on the right side? Weird. PDA? So weird. Hot, real showers. Toilets. Fruit. American business’s. Many many food options.

I have not been use to these things for six months. Privileges I didn’t realize were privileges until this year. I am so blessed and thankful for there past six months and so excited about the next three.
