If you’ve read any of my blogs from the past two months you probably have read that ministry in India looks different every single day. So I’ve decided to tell you about one of them. For the second time since being here my team went to Agape rehab center on Tuesday. Upon arriving our host asks us what we are going to do. Ha, we love when we know we are in charge the moment we arrive somewhere, but seriously, I love my team and the way we quickly ask the Lord what we should do, what worship songs, what message, who’s testimony, small groups? okay. We spent the first thirty minutes hanging out with the men and playing carom board (my partner and I won twice). We then all joined together in their small chapel and sang a few songs together. Man, did that fill my soul. Seven girls and a bunch of rehab inmates worshipping of our God. That is church. No one better than the other. All of us broke, sinful humans who have been saved by a perfect God who calls us worthy because of His son.
Peyton shared her testimony and Anna talked about the lost sheep, coin, and son. I love my bold, courageous teammates who listen to God’s call and act! After our little service we split up into two groups. My group included Liz, Tiara, and Emily from my team plus about eight men. I think we all got the vibe they didn’t need any lectures or intense talks, just some laughs. So we played Never Have I Ever and BS. Then our two groups combined with a big volleyball game. We played until the ball literally was spiked over the fence and we couldn’t play anymore.
We were about two hours late for lunch by the time we left.
Jesus, thank you for a love so deep that it reaches all of us!
