We all have heard those stories—miracles, healing, the impossible happening. They are cool stories, inspiring stories. But to most of us they are just distant stories, that never quite seemed possible for us to experience. I’ve always believed in my heart the Lord can do anything, that he could heal people if He wanted. But I never expected the Lord to use me. I am only Lexi. And my team is only team Sahaas. But we have the Holy Spirit living within us. We have the mighty, powerful God living inside us. And he chose us. He loves us so much to allow us to be the vessel of His power and love.

None of us take credit for this—all of it was the Lord. But all seven of us can say we feel honored the Lord would experience this with us. He loves us. He loves us this much.

On Wednesday we arrived at our care point, it was cold and wet out, and almost all kids were still in school. Our shepherd, Situlele, lead us to Gogo Maira’s house for the second day in a row. On Tuesday we had come over to her house and this beautiful, sweet eighty year old could not stay out long with us before she had to go lay down. She literally got so excited to see us her heart symptoms started acting up and she quickly needed to lay down and get some food and water. We prayed over her and left, but we all knew in our hearts we would be back to pray again. So here we are the next day, walking through the mud to her sweet home.

We sang her songs, read her Bible stories, chatted, and laughed. She shared with us she had a stroke and now suffers from knee and foot pain and her cane does not exactly help her. Her eyesight and memory is also poor. We all surrounded her and said multiple prayers— that she would be able to remember God’s word even though she can’t read it, that her eyesight would be restored, and that there would be no more leg pain.

After the prayer Liz asked her to try to walk—without her cane. She stands up, walks across the room, turns around towards us and starts touching her knee. “No more swelling,” she tells us. “No more swelling.” “No more pain.” “I feel no pain.” All of sudden we all start laughing and clapping and praising Jesus. Gogo Maria praises Jesus while dancing and jumping around the room. Not just walking around, but actually jumping and dancing.

Some of us were at the point of tears—our God healed Gogo Maria. Thank you Lord for allowing us to experience that with her!

Amazing things are happening at our care point. We prayed for her son for mental sickness. We prayed for a blind woman. (We will continue praying for her). We prayed over a student who hasn’t been able to attend to school because of his headaches—he went the next day, free of pain!

The Lord loves me enough to send me around the world to experience his power and love in crazy new ways.  We saw a miracle! We lived it! And the Lord loves Gogo Maria enough to send seven girls around the world to use as dirty, broken vessels to meet her exactly where she is, and love her like Jesus would in that moment.

In our dirty, crusty, muddy chacos we walk back from her home to our care point. The rain is drizzling and our hearts are singing. Here we are, walking between the mountains in Swaziland, and I think we all knew Jesus was walking with us too.
