You know when you’ve had that really discouraging week. You have worked tremendously hard on something and you finally feel like “Yes, I’m getting there!”.
And then something happens.
All of a sudden, everything you’ve worked for feels like not enough. Maybe you didn’t get the job or maybe someone said something to you that completely discouraged you. A discourgaing situation happened to me last week with fundraising. I fully understand not everyone can financially support my trip! But someitmes the devil uses these instances to make you feel not worthy, and forgotten–even annoying.
I suddenly felt like, maybe I can’t do it, or maybe I’m asking for money in the wrong way, or maybe I’m not meant to do this. I can not explain how thankful I am to the people that have already supported my trip so much! It is so easy for situations like this–where someone has discouraged you, to blind you from all the blessings you have already received.
I began praying that God would reveal Himself and validate that I am suppose to do this crazy, weird thing called The World Race. And boy, did He deliver!
Last Wednesday night I was looking at my emails as I saw I recieved one that alerts me when someone donates. I opened it, trying not to expect too much.
$1,000.
Wow. I was quickly brought to tears and had no plan to stop them from flowing. God heard my prayer, and God delivered in His perfect timing better than I could have imagined. If you are reading this–thank you! From the bottom of my heart I have been blessed so greatly by your giving spirit!
The same can be said to everyone else who has been faithful and consisent to donate or pray for me! I can say that right now I am almost exactly 25% to my goal of $15,800! I am so abundently blessed by the people in my life and the oppurtunties I’ve had as only an eighteen year old!
I know this is where Jesus needs me to be next year.
