The World Race w/ Lexi Lyle: About
Yellow friends! 🙂
My name is Lexi Lyle and I was blessed with the fortune of being born and raised in the great state of Texas, and boy do I have Texas pride y’all! My allegiance to Texas is not solely for the stars at night or the great rolling hills, not even the skyline that will take your breathe away; my Texas pride comes from somewhere deeper. You’ll know it if you have it, and you’ll think I am crazy if you don’t.
I have two older brothers who have been my hero’s and protector’s since as far back as I can remember, and my parents were both saved later in life after they were married, but by God’s grace before I was a part of the family! My Pops and Momma both aided in the creation of an authentic and quaint Classical Christian School, called Alpha Omega Academy. Through God’s divine sovereignty I was able to attend AOA from Kindergarten until my graduate year, Class of 2017. Alpha Omega spurred passions inside of me like social justice, logical debate, the importance of politics, a love for literature and discussion, and most importantly Alpha Omega taught me how to think, instead of what to think. Through these doctrines I grew in my knowledge of God’s truth and reality, and I firmly believe that attending this school equipped me to do many of the things God has aligned in my life with more bravery and determination than I could willfully have done with my own feeble power.
I grew up in the body of Christ (the Church) and was constantly blessed with having God’s truth spoken into my life, day in and day out. For years as I absorbed this knowledge and it stayed stagnant in my mind, for it was only factual head knowledge. It was not until I was nine years old that I became aware of my powerlessness and my own depravity, God sought me, and I submitted to the facts that had resided in my mind and that day I was penetrated and delivered from a life separated from Christ.
My pursuit of our Creator has grown in ways I cannot articulate because His entity is more than language can provide, but I have had seasons of compartmentalization and justifying myself, however; God’s liberty reigns true and I am so thankful to serve a God who rights wrongs and who calls us to fully surrender, because that is where true liberation lies.
As I grow in my devotion and attention to the Lord my interests and hobbies shift as well, but there are a few things that remain constants. I love being outside, whether that be: ham-mocking, playing catch, hiking, riding bikes, rock climbing, fishing, on the lake, you name it; God’s design is bliss! I adore reading, Jane Austen is a gem, and many others in that era. I love learning and fighting for protection and equality for indigenous peoples, and social injustice in general. And two other things I enjoy is music, and the theatre (musicals, ballets, symphony, broadway, etc.). Oh! Wildflowers, I love the Earth and wildflowers and the movie Avatar!
I am so thankful to have community and support, the spiritual wars are alive and well, but let us not be defeated, because we serve the undefeated King of Kings!
I hope this jumbled mess made enough sense to get a feel of who I am, if you do not know me, ask questions… I would love to learn about YOU, and pray for you too! We are brothers and sisters because the same blood of Jesus Christ washed us white, so let us take sweet advantage of that tool, and use it to sharpen, grow, and re-kindle our fires for the sake of the Kingdom!
