Hi there, welcome to my blog!
My name is Lauren Luttrell and I will be going on the World Race in August 2018 on route #2! This route includes the countries: Haiti, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, India, Nepal, Zambia, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia.
Here are some fun facts about me:
- I was born and raised in Spotsylvania, VA, where my parents still reside. I have an older brother Ryan who lives in Charlotte, NC and I’m a proud dog mom to my Siberian husky, Mack (who is being taken care of by my gracious parents while I’m on the race, thanks mom and dad!!)
- I’m currently a physical therapy student! Expected to graduate in May of 2018 from the VCU Physical Therapy program in Richmond, VA. I hope to work with children with developmental disabilities once returning from the World Race!
- I’ve never been to a different continent and can barely say I’ve traveled outside of the United States. However, I’ve always loved exploring new areas and cities and look forward to experiencing the different climates and cultures in the countries I’ll be visiting.
- I’ve never been camping before, so living out of a backpack and sleeping in a tent for most of the 11 months will be a brand new adventure for me!
- I’m not a picky eater. The only things I won’t eat are peanut butter or cottage cheese, so I’m looking forward to trying new foods on the trip
- I kicked for my high school football team! I’ve been into sports my whole life, with soccer being my primary sport, so when our football team needed a kicker, I was asked to tryout and the rest was history! Being athletic will help me on the trip some, but I’ve got some training to do in order to carry my 80L backpack full of my stuff from country to country for 11 months!
- I’ve never blogged before! So, please bare with me if this isn’t the most well-written, clever, witty and inspiring blog you’ve ever read, haha
Thanks for visiting my blog and getting to know me a little bit! If you’d like to learn more about how you can support me financially or through prayer, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I’d love to share my heart for the Lord and for this amazing journey he’s called me to!
