The last seven months have been some of the best and hardest months in my life. In January, I left for the World Race with absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. In the last seven months I’ve partnered with some incredible organizations around the world getting to see how passionate people are for the places the Lord has called them. I’ve worked in orphanages, in the slums, in dance bars with prostitutes, and in countless churches. I’ve loved on orphans with special needs, shared the Gospel with refugees, and prayed healing over the sick. I’ve shared the Gospel and seen people cross from death to life, because of the love and grace of Jesus. It’s been absolutely beautiful!

Apart from just ministry, I’ve been able to go to some beautiful countries and do some incredible things. From paragliding in Colombia, to hiking Machu Picchu on crutches in Peru, to swimming in the Indian Ocean, hiking Cotopaxi in Ecuador and rafting in Nepal the World Race was full of so many fun adventures. I’ve gotten to experience so many cultures and see how the Lord is moving and working in His church all over the globe.

While the World Race was full of so many great experiences, it also carried with it a fair share of challenges. While, to an extent, I knew what I was signing up for when I applied and committed to going on the World Race, there were also a lot of unforeseen experiences and challenges both on a personal level and with from an organizational stand point that I’ve been trying to navigate the last few months.

That being said, it is with both great sorrow and much gratitude that I am sharing that as of this past Saturday, I’m back home in the United States. It had just reached a point, where it was time for me to come home and say goodbye to the World Race.

I am so grateful for everyone’s support over the last year and a half, both financially and prayerful. I will forever be grateful for the ways you’ve loved me, prayed for me, given to me, and encouraged me. & I hope in the days to come as I transition from life on the field to life back at home and figure out my new normal, that you’ll continue to keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Much love, Lauren Kenley
