That’s what I have to tell myself at the end of each month on the race. To the country, to the people I meet, and it tugs on my heart each and every single time.

Will I see this country again?

Will I see these people again?

The reality is I may, I may not.

I had no intention of ghosting the blog this month. But rest assured, this has quite possibly been one of my favorite months of the world race thus far and I can say that with complete confidence.

The girls I have been on a team with this month have been so life giving. The theme of this month has been “Royalty.”

Lifting each other up as a group of women and as daughters of the King. We have truly felt like royalty here in Heidelberg, South Africa. So loved and cared for by God and each and every single person we have had the blessing of meeting. Relationships and memories were made this month that will withstand the test of time, and I truly believe that.

Ministry has been oh so sweet this month. We have been able to pour out love on this community and evangelize in such intricate and tangible ways. We were able to partner with our hosts Phil and Tanya, Pastors of Langeberg Christian Fellowship, by helping at local preschools, visiting a Safe House which is a beautiful home of restoration for kids who have been abandoned, and helping with needs around the church.

What a blessing their church body was to us. We had meals prepared for us every evening by members of the church. One Sunday after church they held a braai (bbq)…what fun getting to fellowship and invest in these amazing people!!!!

Every where we went this month it had the small town feel where by the end people on the street would be calling us by name. And a sweetest older couple by the name of Mike and Noreen took us under their wing and loved our team so well. Every time I would see Mike he would say “My favorite girl” (in his South African accent) and I would say back “My favorite guy.” Now I am leaving with South African grandparents.

You think about all the people you meet in your lifetime and just wow, this is probably my favorite part of the race. The relationships you encounter along the way.

To end our time here in Africa we were able to take a little mini-vacation to Cape Town, South Africa. Our hosts drove us and made the journey getting there quite spectacular as we got to visit the southern most point of SA and see SA Penguins. What a dream and that was just getting to Cape Town.

Cape Town held so much more. Once in Cape Town we got to go to one of the newest 7 Wonders of Nature, Table Mountain, and what a view.

We took a red bus tour of the city and went to Camps Bay Beach.

Everything about our time there was just picture perfect and I will definitely be back. It was probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever experienced and didn’t want to leave. It was a perfect way to cap off our time here as we move on to the next continent and head to Latin America (Central and South America).

Which brings me to what’s ahead. We are leaving Heidelberg today and arriving in Johannesburg. We will be there till March 25th and then will fly out to start our 60 hr travel day to begin month 7. Super exciting news, we will have a 16 hr overnight layover back in the states in NYC!!!! We are all beyond thrilled to have been blessed to have a tease back on our home turf in one of the greatest cities in the world!!

Well, that’s a little recap of the month. See you in Nicaragua!!! I get to see my parents this month for PVT (Parent Vision Trip) where they get to spend a week out on the field with me! Ekkkkk…. lots to look forward to as we leave Africa!

Much love to you all!!
