I read something today and was reminded that when making vital decisions in our lives that have the potential to move us forward, it is important to know that how you make your decisions is nearly important as the decision itself.
Is your choice being made with trust, love and faith?
Trust. Check.
Love. Check.
Faith. Check.
When I firmly made the decision to commit to The World Race, I had to ask myself the important question.. “Lauren, are you willing to leave the comforts of home for the greater good of his kingdom?” (Because lets keep it real, there are many times where we will be roughing it and no access to warm water and away from our cozy beds for a year… Hello tents and sleeping bags). And are you spiritually speaking willing to step out of your comfort zone? To be stretched to lengths you can’t even imagine. Will you have the courage to discover this part of yourself and embrace it? I came to the realization that when you discover you have a whole lot of love to pour out on to other people, there are no limitations. That love will give you all the strength and courage you need to embrace the role that he has called me to, to shine my light for Christ. In my case, that light will be going into 11 specific countries. Still blows me away. Each country is going to be different with unique cultures, different people, different religions, but my purpose to spread light will still be the same. It is clear from scripture that God has a role for us while we are on this earth awaiting the day when he calls us home.
In this specific role….. In this specific season…. I am asking him, no pretty much begging him, to make me uncomfortable, in order to comfort others. To expand my heart my with love that it just overflows. It is not meant to be contained. I want him to break my heart for what breaks his. I want him to open up my eyes to the things unseen.
We truly live in our cozy and very much comfortable little bubbles don’t we?
I want to see past myself, dig deeper and press press press into my purpose and if I have to get uncomfortable; so be it. But will be oh so worth it.
A comfort zone is a great place, we can all agree, but nothing grows there.
Think about that….. 😉
