I’m so thankful and blessed to say that I am leaving for the World Race FULLY FUNDED!!! That blows my mind that God has provided $18,200 in just 7 months! Thank you to everyone who has donated! Your donations and support has made a big impact on me and it has been so encouraging to see how many people have been so willing to help me reach this goal.
The World Race is something that I’ve been looking forward to for 3 years and now it is a reality. HOW EXCITING! Right now I am in the Miami airport with my 37 squad mates waiting to get on a plane to our first destination, Belize. As I am writing this blog I can’t help but think how fast time has gone by.. I’ve waited 3 years for this and now I’m laying on my blow up sleeping pad in the floor of the airport next to my over packed backpacks full of baby wipes and bug spray. I want to embrace moments like these. Moments of exhaustion from constantly being on the go, sleeping in airports, living in a different country every month, living out of a backpack, meeting new people and making friends knowing I will have to leave them in just four short weeks, leaving behind all my comforts of home, and leaving my friends and family.
I don’t want to be the same person when I get back to the US in 11 months. I want to be CHANGED. I want my world to be ROCKED. I want to be UNCOMFORTABLE. Because going through discomfort and difficulty is how we grow. As humans we naturally run away from pain, but through all of the training classes I’ve had to sit through for the World Race, I’ve been told to allow myself to feel the pain and discomfort of life (especially in the next 11 months) and to push into the hard times instead of running away from it or trying to fill a void within myself with temporary comforts, pleasures, etc. Because the void within myself and within you is Jesus shaped. He is the only one who can bring real change, peace, and healing to our lives. But He sometimes speaks the loudest in our lowest points. Because when we are weak He is strong.

I know the World Race will be an adventure of a lifetime full of opportunities to grow. I am so excited to share this experience with you. 🙂
