I have been home for a month now. WHAT?!

Packed full of reunions, weddings, road trips, it has been nothing short of sweet. To say I’ve missed these people would be a massive understatement & I am thankful every single day for these relationships that have continued as if I’d never even left.

Now that I have been home & settled for a month I feel as if I can finally start looking at what’s next & man is it sweet!

I am so excited to officially announce that I have been given the opportunity to lead a squad on the World Race this OCTOBER!!!

How did I get here????

As many of you know, halfway through my race I got raised up as a Squad Leader where I got the amazing opportunity to lead my squad (alongside 3 other amazing women) throughout the rest of our race. On the weekend I got raised up, back in December, one of my alumni leaders wrote me a note & he said that he believed that this next season was going to be a training ground for things to come. & goodness was he right!

Towards the end of January the Lord started placing Alumni Leading on my heart & honestly I was pretty scared. I mean I had JUST stepped into this role & here I was thinking about coming back out and doing it again. But if there’s anything I learned on the Race it’s that God’s plan for us is SO MUCH better than anything we could ever think of ourselves. We just need to follow Him (sometimes blindly!) & He figures out the rest for us.

So I started praying praying praying & found myself completely drawn to the women & men of Z Squad. I felt the Lord saying “this will be your next season, to love & lead these people.” So I dove in headfirst, had some really sweet conversations with WR staff, & joined the Z squad team right before I left China. I could not be more thankful for the way the Lord has guided every single one of my steps throughout the entire process!!! HE IS FAITHFUL!

How long will I be gone?

After leaving in October, I will be gone for a total of 5 months. This means that sadly I will miss Christmas & my absolute favorite holiday, Thanksgiving, but thankfully I have the most supportive family in the whole world & they understand that this is the Lord’s plan for this time in my life. But I am so happy to say that I will get to fly back home in January for a couple of days for my best friends wedding. This was another HUGE answered prayer & I just keep thanking God that He made it possible!

Where will Z Squad be traveling?

I will be traveling with Z Squad the first 5 months through South America & Western Africa. I have never been to either of these regions of the world, so I am completely STOKED to experience these new cultures. You can see a list of the full route here – https://www.worldrace.org/routes/october2019-route-1/

How am I feeling????

I am excited & nervous & ready for this next journey! I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is what the Lord had planned for me all along, it’s kind of crazy to think about! & I know that He is continuing to prepare me & guide me along the way. I am just so excited to see all of the things He does & I am just ready to meet the beautiful people of Z Squad!

I will be fundraising for this Race as I did with my original one, but this time I am raising anywhere between $5,000 – $8,000. Partnering with me would be the biggest blessing, so if the Lord places it on your heart to give again, it would mean the world! If you can’t partner with me financially, it’s okay! I would love allll of your prayers. The Lord hears them & He answers them!

I am so thankful for you! Thank you for following my journey this past year & for all of the constant, prayers, encouragement, & comments. I hope you continue to follow along, because I just know God has some amazing things in store & I’m looking so forward to bringing you guys on this next journey with me.

With so so so much love,

     Landry
