Patience. This is something that I have struggled with SO much lately. I didn’t realize until the race how impatient that I actually am. I have learned this through seeing how I react/think in little things. Patience with my teammates when they are having a bad day. Patience with the squad when they are getting on my nerves. Patience when people aren’t on time or when something doesn’t start when it is supposed to. Patience at a restaurant when they are taking too long. Patience when the insurance company is making things more complicated than they need to be. And ultimately, patience with God when something doesn’t go as I want it to or He tells me to wait.
In 1 Corinthians 13, it says Love is Patient. Notice that is the first attribute of love that is listed. It is hard for me to love people while I’m being impatient, but that’s exactly what love is…PATIENCE! This has been a hard lesson for me to learn, but I believe God wants me to move past this so that I can have a deeper love for people and a deeper love for Him, so how do I do this? Seek to understand others and put yourself in their shoes. This is obviously something that I am still working on, but I just want to encourage you that the next time you are irritated with someone or impatient in a situation, seek to understand.
Yours in Christ,
Landon Mullins
