For this blog I decided to share some cool adventures that I have had on the race. Here are my top 5…

#1- Climbing a Waterfall

On Christmas Day we went to a waterfall in Costa Rica. We walked through a river to get to the waterfall and when we got there it was probably the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. We would climb one waterfall and there would be rocks you could jump off of into a deeper part of water. Then as you hiked farther up, there were more waterfalls. Zach G, Joey, and I climbed up a few of them before having to head back. It was extremely beautiful and reminded me so much of how awesome God is.

#2- Hotel Getaway

My teammate Ben and I went and stayed at a really nice hotel in Malaysia. It was right on the beach and pretty affordable, so we decided to go for it. Best money I’ve ever spent. After living in the same room with 7 other people for a few months we just needed to get away. We chilled by the pool, stayed up late, took several hot showers, talked about life, and had a nice buffet breakfast. It was a nice break after a rough month.

#3- Feeding/Bathing Elephants

In Thailand a few of my teammates and I had the super cool opportunity to go to an elephant sanctuary and feed elephants bananas. After that, we also got to bathe them in some pretty cold water. They would spray us with the water, which was kind of gross, but so cool!!! One of my favorite adventures on the race for sure!

#4- Swing Dancing in Thailand

Back in Thailand too, a few of our squadmates went to a mall one day and saw a sign for swing dancing classes, so a lot of us went the next weekend. I had never been dancing before, but I really enjoyed it and went back several times. Now everytime we do a party or something with the squad we usually incorporate swing dancing.

#5- Grand Canyon

Also in Thailand, a lot of us went to a water park called the Grand Canyon. It differs from most water parks though. It is made up of a bunch of inflatables in a quarry. It also had a zip line. I actually went both times. We had a blast, but were extremely tired after. We also went down these slides that go down the side of the cliff and launch you into the water. There was also a cliff jump that we did. I was honestly terrified, but I did it anyways and don’t regret it.

Ways you can be praying for me going forwards are:

-For the health of our squad, because a lot of people have been getting sick.

-For me to continue choosing into ministry and for God to give me the energy to serve others well.

-For our squad to continue staying intentional with one another and with everyone we come into contact with.

Yours in Christ,

Landon
