Intentionality. This is a huge area God has been teaching and growing me in over the past week. I feel like I have always struggled with being passive and laid back. I don’t tend to initiate conversations, but instead wait for others to come to me. I don’t tend to ask people if they need help, because I think they can do it on their own. Through talking to one of our squad leaders this past week (Love you Christie), she really encouraged me to grow in that and not be afraid to speak in front of the team and the family/kids we are staying with. On Sunday I got up and shared about how God has provided in my life. It was uncomfortable for me, but I just had a peace about it. However, being laid back sometimes isn’t always a bad thing. We all need a break sometimes, but don’t let that turn into you putting yourself before others and being lazy.

But here’s the thing, Jesus didn’t call us to be passive with our lives. He calls us to be intentional and effective. To be the first one to ask someone how their day is going. To be the first one to serve someone else. To be good listeners when people need someone to talk to and ask hard questions. Sometimes that may require taking a huge step or even a little step out of our comfort zone, but don’t be afraid of what the world thinks of you.

On the race, we have a lot of one on one conversations with each other, which really allows us to encourage each other in growth and let each other know how we feel. For me it is hard to keep up and be intentional and reflective in my listening, but some of my teammates have really shown me what that looks like and it has been super encouraging. I feel like God is already growing me in that and I can’t wait to see where He takes me. My encouragement to you is to step out and love others first. Don’t be passive, but be intentional.

Thank you all for loving me, being intentional with reading my blogs, and supporting me. I still have $592 left to raise for my trip so that I can stay the whole 9 months. If you would like to help me meet my financial goal you can do so through the donate button and the top of the page. Y’all are awesome. Thanks!

Yours in Christ,

Landon Mullins
