I got a glimpse into the next year of my life and I COULD NOT be more excited!

To be honest, before training camp it scared me to think I was “stuck” with 36 other people for 11 months. I know that may sound harsh but I kept wondering if they were going to be like me, like the same things I do, want to talk about what I like to talk about, have the same sense of humor, etc. Looking back this was so selfish of me to have that mindset and I know the devil was just trying to put doubts in my head about this next year of my life. My family and friends mean so much to me so leaving them all for 11 months has been the hardest part of saying yes to the World Race. I know all the goodbyes are coming and it makes me want to cry just thinking about it but I cannot wait to be reunited with P Squad in just 6 weeks!

My FAVORITE part of training camp was by far all the PEOPLE: speakers/worship leaders, trainers, coaches, mentor, leaders, my team, P Squad…I love them all!

Each day we spent a good chunk of our day in worship and sessions. And maybe that doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing to you, but they were some of the best parts of the day! I almost always had goosebumps (and I’m not talking about from the AC)! Every day there were testimonies and stories told that were so incredible, and people speaking such truth over us and people all around me finding spiritual and physical healing because of prayer! I wish I could tell it in such a way you could see and hear what I did, but you’ll just have to trust me or go for yourself!

When we weren’t in sessions I was with my squad. Sometimes that meant debriefing the day with all of our leaders, playing games to get to know each other better or preparing for the next field scenario they threw at us. And if you’re wondering what a field scenario might look like, it’s something like this:

A) Your plane doesn’t leave till the morning so you spend the night in an “airport” where they leave all lights on and play airport sounds all night and you have to make do with what you have.

B) Teams must work together to fit all 12 of you into a tent with all your bags and they smell terrible so you must find a way to squeeze and love every minute of it. (If you need a visual- just think of the Pitch Perfect camping scene)

C) The airport loses half of your squad’s luggage so you all must share tents and hammocks until everyone has a new home for the night.

No matter what we did, it was always a good time with P Squad! We laughed, we cried, we sang, we learned, we grew, we danced, we sweated, we endured the bucket showers, we tried new foods, we hiked, oh and did I mention we won squad wars!? Everyone participated and everyone had each other’s back through it all. Who knew we could become so close in just 10 days?? Starting from the leaders to my teammates in P Squad there is such a genuine love for each other, and even though I just met them they already feel like family!

I just want to finish by saying THANK YOU for all your prayers because they mean the world! I asked for prayers for my team and leaders before training camp and your prayers were answered because I absolutely love them, and know this is right where the Lord wants me! In just six short weeks my squad will meet back up in Atlanta where we will launch for the World Race! Prayers for us as we prepare for this next year would be greatly appreciated!

I still need just shy of $7,000 to reach my fundraising goal. If you would like to support my trip or know more information I would love to get together with you to tell you more about what I will be doing!

Love you all!!
