I am so excited to post my first official blog post! This is one of many things that is making this whole experience feel more real.
Now, where do I begin? This whole process has been quiet an adventure so far. People ask me all the time how I found out about the race and how this started for me and to be honest, it all started with a casual scroll through Instagram… yep, Instagram. I know it doesn’t sound all too spiritual but it’s the truth! I saw the ad and was interested so I opened it. On the surface, the World Race looked like just a fun trip, but once I found out it was all about Jesus I was so excited! I had to find out more about this “race”. I did some more research, saw it was going to cost me $18,000 and I immediately left the website in discouragement.
Fortunately, the story doesn’t end there. Days after checking out the World Race, I could not stop thinking about it. It was on my mind all day everyday and I would find myself on their website even though I thought I would never be apart of it. But then there was a webinar and I thought “Whats the hurt in watching this?” Next thing you know, I was applying (still with the mindset of “I can’t do this.”)
At this point, my wishful thinking became wishful talking! I would slide the world race into family conversation and would show promo videos to friends. The burden on my heart for missions was growing and growing! And of course at this point it was constantly brought up in prayer as well. God was beginning to show me the amazing plans He has for my life, because before this I was having a hard time living the “Normal life”… but I’ll get to that more in another blog!
Anyway, like I was saying, I didn’t chose the World Race life, the World Race life chose me! Haha!
I was walking though Walmart one day when I received a call and when I answered, I was told that I had been accepted to the World Race. And let me tell you how hard it was to keep my cool in Walmart. I was ecstatic! Finally, dreams were becoming a reality and God’s will was (and currently still is) being done in my life!
I am so thankful for all He has done for me!
Heres to an amazing journey!
