We ran to the beach and looked at the ocean. I love the ocean and as I stood their studying it, I realized this is why.

I love hearing and seeing the waves crash on the shore, and it reminds me of God’s love. The ocean is SO vast, deep, and wide. It is completely unsearchable yet capable of being known. People could study it for ages and not know everything about it.

As the waves come touch my feet, it’s like a tender touch. In that moment of invitation, I can choose to go deeper, to be overwhelmed, or to ride on the waves even. The ocean is gentle, constant, and dangerous – much like His love.

What can compare to this? What can keep me and us from it? Only the distance we place there.

I don’t want that distance though; I want nearness – to feel, know, and hear His heart. As I was pondering this, then I was reminded of Romans saying that nothing can separate us from this love. He loves us even if we have trouble, calamity, persecution, hunger, destitution, danger, or threats of death. Even in these things, we have an overwhelming victory through Christ who loved us.

Death, life, angels, demons, fears, worries, powers – nothing can separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus. We literally have victory over these things because of Jesus’ love.

How perfect is that? We get to join with Him in something so great.

I’m praying that we would delve into this with Him, whether it’s the first time or the thousandth.

From my heart to yours,

Kim
