I can’t believe that Spring is right around the corner! For me that means midterms are here, tourist traffic is picking up at work, and I’m about six months away from leaving for the World Race. SIX MONTHS. ONLY SIX.
The excitement and stress is real.
Spring is such a busy season of life; so much growth is expected, house cleaning is required, and kids are beginning their search for summer jobs. In all of the hubbub of Spring I feel like it’s really important to take a minute and find the little joys in everyday experiences. I was eating at a restaurant last week known as “Toast” and the archway in front of their door says “Small Celebrations Everyday.” Since eating some amazing food that night, (yes, it was toast) that statement has stuck with me. I don’t want to get lost in all of the requirements and To-Do lists of this season. So instead of listing things I have to do, I’m going to list things I have found joy in this month and things I’m looking forward to:
February:
-Midnight coffee runs with friends
-Free donuts from a nice lady at church
-Puppy-sitting on the oceanfront and staying at a beach house
-Bacon roses on Valentines Day
-Passing my Biology Midterm (that was the evidence there is a God)
-Laughing with new friends on college campuses and in small groups
-The feeling you get on the beach when you can see all of the stars
-Self-appointed art projects and greenhouse building for Spring
-Face-timing with missionaries in Bulgaria
-Volunteering with the International Mission Board
Oh, and Fundraising is at just over $5,000!! Praise God! God is still moving in this incredible adventure and I’m blown away by his providence through people’s generous hearts and prayers. I’m so excited for the next steps in fundraising, I’m going to be selling t-shirts this next month and possibly stickers as well! I’ll keep everyone interested in getting a t-shirt updated in the meantime. God is so faithful in this season of growth and I hope that as I’m praying for God to continue molding and preparing me for the coming seasons, all of you are doing the same. My prayers go out to all of you, and remember to have “Small Celebrations Everyday”
T-shirts come in red or blue, are extra soft, and are just $20! The verse referenced on them is Ephesians 6:15 which states,”…and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” This verse describes a piece of our spiritual armor as christians and means a lot to me personally. We are equipped by God with every step we take, wherever that may be, with a readiness for whatever events may befall our lives. It’s a powerful thought to think that in the wake of and through our steps, the Gospel of Peace is spread to the nations of the world.
Thanks again for your support and for taking the time to read about what God is doing in my life and in His mission field. Love and prayers to you all!
