I sit here, surrounded by about twenty new friends. They’re all asleep, nuzzled in various positions in their airline seats. We’re thousands of feet above the United States enroute to Seattle. We’ll have a quick layover and WR Expedition August 2019 will officially be on the field, overseas.
The short time I spent in America last month went by in lightning speed. It was dynamic and it was such a blessing to be back for a short time. Last week, I switched gears again as I arrived in Atlanta for a week of leadership training and quality time with the squad’s leadership team.
As the weekend came, I excitedly anticipated meeting the new racers of Expedition and getting on the field with them. Launch, a time of field training and commissioning, was full of rich moments. My favorites were all moments in worship. Moments of being overcome by the goodness of the Father on this journey and then also opening my eyes to see a room full of people overwhelmed by His love. You guys, there is just nothing like Him.
And in what felt like just a blink—round TWO is officially in full swing. Later today, we’ll touch down in China; I’m back on the field. This squad will journey all throughout the 10/40 window, much like my squad did last year. While I am with them during the first three months, we will be spreading the love of Jesus throughout China, Nepal and India!
**also, NEPAL. Did I mention, I am turning 26 in Nepal. WHAT?! Nepal is not only the home of Mt. Everest, but also the dream country I never thought I’d go, but have been dreaming about since like fourth grade. It’s also the actual location of about forty books I’ve read. Lol. God’s gifts are so wild.
As one journey bleeds into the next, I’ve never felt so secure in how the Father connects each season for His purposes. As I simply open my hands to His plans, I continue to just be so floored by the goodness of His gifts. With expectancy, I am entering this new season with such excitement to unwrap the gifts the Father has in it. I am so excited to watch these new friends unwrap and discover the gifts the Father has placed in their life and hearts too.
For the next three months, I’ll be with doing life with team LOST&FOUND. As an alumni team leader, I have the immense privilege of helping disciple and encourage these new racers. I also have the immense privilege of learning and being grown so much by these great, new friends. Daily, we’ll be together seeking God, pursing Kindgom community and the commission, listening to the Spirit, digging deep, adventuring through all these new cultures, meeting so many beautiful locals and certainly laughing a lot. In this time of travel there is such an opportunity to not only tell people about Jesus, but show them His deep love through the miracle of community. Thanks for your prayers in this!
Meet Hannah, Aspen, Dylan and Ian. A rad, joyful and hungry bunch.
