As I reflect on the last two months on the field, I can only think of one word that comes close to capturing all the emotions:
AWE.
I am completely in awe of God’s power.
I am completely in awe of how I’ve seen God move.
I am completely in awe.
As our team and squad prepares to transition from North Africa to Cyprus, I wanted to take the opportunity to share some updates and thank all of my supporters. God’s love is so wild, and this adventure has been nothing short of that.
Over the last six weeks, specifically, we’ve been able to meet and become friends with so many beautiful women. Each of their names are listed in my prayer journal, and this morning I counted nearly thirty new friends to be in prayer for. Seeds have been planted—the Holy Spirit was so evident in these new, deep and fun relationships. Continue to pray for the women of North Africa.
I continue to appreciate and learn that the table can be a sacred place of authenitc and rich community. North Africa has taught me so much about hospitality. Couscous, as pictured above, was a generous gesture of local hopitality many times. Coucous was the occasion of many opportunities to share Jesus, prayers, healing and growing friendship with many Muslim women. The table has also been a meaningful connection point within my team. We are wired for relationship and this community is rich.
God is teaching me a lot about intercession and discerning His voice with boldness. As I learn to listen to the Holy Spirit to a new degree, I am humbled by His gentleness. There are many empty seats at the table and I believe it is God’s desire to bring His children home. As I learn to slow down, not be hurried and listen to His voice with more wisdom, I hear to a new decibel just how God speaks.
Sunrise prayers, tea and the reminder of God’s new mercies and steadfast love has been a great way to start the day.
Living in community with my teammates has been a blessing and beautliful adjustment from life in the States. Each one of us is uniquely wired, but share the same heart and passion for Christ and sharing his good news. Daily life with Landry, Joelle, Gina Marie and Kelly is never dull and always full of songs from musicals. But moreso, it is stretching each of us to grow. God has given each of these ladies such incredible gifts for the Kindgom. Learning to better lead, serve, live, worship, struggle, grow, share vulerably has been such a working of God in itself. I am so blessed by Daughters of the Light and to be part of this team. Within my role on the team, God is constantly leading me to submission to obedience. It is a beautiful thing to live in authentic community.

We are created in the image of God. Each person in the world inherently created with the capacity to be a pivotal and vital part of the Kindgom. As I meet more and more people who do not know the truth, I have more deeply discovered the innate human longing for connection and truth. We are created for connection. We are wired for the Kingdom. I continue to learn to see God’s glory and beautiful depth of His image in the raw diversity of His people.
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look to the heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” -Psalm 8 (featuring the Atlas Mountains)

I could go on for photos and photos, but for now I simply want to THANK YOU from North Africa! Without your partnership, God could not be working as He is. Hearts are bring changed in the name of Jesus Christ—the hearts of many Muslim women, my own heart, the hearts of my teammates. The culture of these places is changing as the Holy Spirit invades them. Seeds for the Kindgom continue to be planted and the gospel is growing in these places of Islamic dominance. God holds all authority and as we ban together to claim more of His power, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your faithfulness and obedience to God’s voice in your own life. I appreciate your continued prayers and friendship. Together we are patterning as the children of God, growing our family of God in this world.
Sending all my love and gratitude,
Kelsey
