Wow, it’s crazy to think that Christmas is already here. It seems like just yesterday I was standing on my front lawn taking a picture with my family before heading to World Race Gap Year Launch 2018, and now we are all celebrating Christmas. It truly has been a wild 4 months! This year Christmas looks a little different for my family and I. This will be the first Christmas I will not be with them in person to celebrate. This year for me Christmas didn’t look like decorating our house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. Christmas didn’t look like going to The Rock Church for a candle light service. Christmas didn’t look like waking up early Christmas morning to cinnamon rolls my Dad had made and to open presents around the tree with my Mom, my Dad, and my sister. Christmas didn’t look like going to my grandparents house to eat a beautiful Christmas dinner with my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. It  didn’t look like it “normally” would… but instead Christmas looked like a candle light service with team Selah. Christmas looked like opening 7/11 presents picked out by my wonderful teammates. Christmas looked like waking up early to greet students as they were dropped off for school. Christmas looked like a Ban Doi School Christmas party. Christmas looked like endless hugs from my adorable kindergartens. Anyway, surrounded by all the new Christmas festivities the Lord told me something.  I actually was home for Christmas. This Christmas I could feel His presence like I never have before, and He told me that if I am in His presence then I’m already home. Even if my earthly home is actually miles away. Now don’t get wrong there was a big piece of my heart longing to be with my family in Michigan this Christmas season, but it’s also pretty cool to know that years ago God planned for me to be in Thailand this Christmas. That’s pretty wild if you ask me! Our God is a God of true intentionality and He continues to remind me of that daily. Anyway,  I hope you all had a great Christmas this year! Thank you so much for reading my blog and following my journey! Don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already to get updates whenever I post a new blog! Merry Belated Christmas!
