In June, I came across a post on social media that spoke to my heart, so I jotted it down in my journal, and I have gone back to it and re-read it countless times over the last few months. It has proven to be quite prophetic for me, and I wanted to share it with you. May it remind you of God’s love, nearness, and faithfulness.
There is more that I am requiring of you, says the Lord. My heart longs for the heart of your heart again. My highest desire is for you to experience authentic intimacy through personal relationship with me… to know my love for you.
While it can be exciting to accomplish and acquire material things, societal status, and recognition— I lovingly warn you not to lose sight of my love. I long for you to know the depth of my love so much that I am going to remove some ‘things’ that you think you need, so I can show you my love and give you what you really need. I lovingly warn you not to be distracted.
I am pulling back the protective hedge around you a bit, so that you can clearly see my power and fully experience my love demonstrated before your very eyes. Do not panic. Do not worry. You may surrender assured, knowing that you are not alone. In and through all that is before you and ahead of you, I am with you. I intentionally place living angels on your path.
I will walk with you through every valley, straighten every crooked place, and escort you to the mountaintop. Toxic relationships that do not serve your purpose will be revealed. They are distractions to destiny. Release the burden of false obligation quickly. Those relationships are taking up space. As you let them go, I will replace that heart space with with healthy, loving, destiny-connected friendships and purpose-driven partnerships that align with my journey for you.
Always remember, I do this to show my everlasting love for you… I do so because there is more that I am requiring of you. There is more. Your eyes haven’t seen it. Your imagination cannot contain it. Your heart cannot know it. Yes! There is more!
Why won’t you allow me to heal your heart? Why won’t you release the past and forgive? Through my love, your heart can be made whole. I am aware and fiercely familiar with the unresolved issues of hurt, anger, and bitterness hidden in your heart. They sit beneath the surface creating habits, behaviors, and rituals that you have convinced yourself will make them go away. And yet, your rituals, habits, and pride cannot hide your pain from me. The temporary satisfaction they provide you is fleeting… my love is eternal.
Open your heart again to my love. My love is near. A healing balm, a sweet caress, and ecstasy you have yet to know. My love will not disappoint. My love never fails. My love will reach every area of your heart, never abandoning your needs… always fulfilling, always knowing. My love for you cannot be compared! I personally offer my love to you… let me wash your heart and restore your dreams with my love.
Trust me as I increase your faith in me and draw you closer to intimacy with me. It may hurt a little… you may be uncomfortable at first. Do not be afraid and do not fear. My love is near! My deepest desire, my highest intention, is for you to be whole. My desire is to heal your heart, to realign your life with my purpose, and to show you my unfailing love.
This year, I have been feeling in my spirit that there is so much more to life. I’m finally listening and running toward the calling to serve in the 10/40 Window.
God designed us to make a difference with our lives. We were created to add to life on earth, not just take from it. God wants us to give something back. Whenever we serve others in any way, we are serving God, and fulfilling one of our purposes. What God told Jeremiah is also true for us:
“Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that’s what I had in mind for you” (Jer. 1:5). We were placed on this planet for a special assignment.
It cost Jesus his own life to purchase our salvation. Through salvation our past has been forgiven, our present is given meaning, and our future is secured. We owe Jesus our lives. So, because of God’s great mercy, we must offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service. The apostle John taught that our loving service to others shows that we are truly saved. He said, “The way we know we’ve been transferred from death to life is that we love our brothers and sisters” (1 John 3:14).
Every Christian is called to service. Your call to salvation included your call to service. Each of us has a role to play, and every role is important. There is no small service to God— it all matters.
Jesus was unmistakeable: He came to serve, not be served— and then to give away his life in exchange for the many who are held hostage (Matt. 20:28). We need to act on what we know and practice what we claim to believe.
I’ve been learning that if I’m not serving, I’m not living— I’m just existing. Life is meant for ministry. God wants us to learn to love and serve others unselfishly. We’re only fully alive when we’re helping others. Jesus said that only those who throw away their lives for his sake and for the sake of his message will know what it means to truly live (Mark 8:35).
A saved heart is one that wants to serve. We are healed to help others; we are blessed to be a blessing; we are called to serve, not to sit around and wait for heaven. Through service, we can show others a little glimpse of heaven on earth.
God is calling each of us onward— to more.
