Wow I have quite a few blogs coming at you fairly rapidly here soon. Seems to be how that works on the Race. I’ll sit forever trying to figure out something to write on, and then all of a sudden I have like 3 blogs worth of information to share.
So first thing is first. I want to announce to you all that approximately a week ago. I was asked by my loveliest and the best squad mentor there is, Ashley Francis, otherwise known as “Fran” to ….
ALUMNI TEAM LEAD!!!!
Crazy right?
After many questions and much prayer,
I said YES!
So what does that mean?
It means I will be loving a cutie team of Racers October through December if this year! Helping them see what it looks like to live in community, have regular feedback in your teams, set team norms, regulate team time, answer questions, and love, encourage, and support the heck out of them! Which means in addition to what I have to raise for G42, I also have to fundraise an additional
$3,800
for alumni team leading for the Race.
So here are three things I’ll present you with.

I’M SO EXCITED
- Because I get to be with Suzanne Rinks again (See picture above to see Suze). Suze has been on my squad traveling with me for the past 10 months of the Race. Fran also asked her to Alumni team lead for the same squad. I’m excited Ron get to know this chick a little bit more as we share our love for kittens, spanish, and matching.
- Because I’ll get to be on a team with Fran again. One of the ladies I respect and admire most: Ashley Francis.
- I get to be on a team with Kris and Doug Christophel. They have been our N squad coaches and their encouragement and counsel have been amazing.
- I get to practice Spanish for 3 more months!
- I will be back in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru! With the potential to be with some of my favorite hosts for the Race from round 1.
- I will have the opportunity to pour out onto the chickens launching October 2019. Ow ow!!!!
- We get to see God provide financially again!
- The hope of potentially being with Mama Cristina and Pastor William in Medellín, Colombia (maybe) or with Tim and Holly in Cusco, Peru (maybe)
- MORE SPIRITUAL GROWTH!!!! Who knows what Jesus is going to teach me this time around.
THE HUMAN IN ME
- Fundraising for two programs at once, and only having approximately 3 months on the ground State side to make it happen
- The growing pains of trusting God in fundraising
- Knowing that I will be committing to 3 years without my beautiful North Carolina fall (WR 2018, WR 2019, G42 2020)
- Being away from family for 2 years
- That Colombian bus ride to Ecuador ??
- Living out of a bag for an extended 3 months
