Ask me to give you the nations and I will do it,? and they shall become your legacy.?..
Psalm 2:8
In my last blog you read how hard Ecuador was for me. As I left Ecuador, ready to go home, but on my way to Perú I had some thoughts. I had begun to believe that the sadness, exhaustion, and “Alright, I’m done” would transfer over to Perú.
RECAP AND BACKSTORY
Perú has been my favorite country since 11th grade. I had fallen in love with this land and people. Being here once before the summer after my junior year of college, I had prayed then that the Lord would give me the strength to return to the US so I could finish my studies. He did, but it came with a lot of tears and asking why in the world was I in the US and not in Perú, my senior year of college.
Perú has been this place that the Lord has given me a supernatural love for. My love for this country really is beyond logic and reason. Before I met Perú I longed for and loved her land and people I had never met.
I was thinking for sure, this time, it will be different. All of what I felt in Ecuador will not leave, and it will accompany me to Perú. What if Perú isn’t this magical place to me anymore, and it was only a one time thing.
ALL THE FEELS
Just as the Lord has continuously been restoring things to me, He has once again given me Perú.
I woke up at 3/4 am Saturday morning, December 8th at a border crossing. There I saw her flag.
Familiarity. Contentment.
I awoke again at 6am that morning with still another day and night to ride this double decker bus to our destination in Lima, but there she was. Perú and her beautiful lands. Dessert and ocean. I was immediately filled with joy, and once again a supernatural love. One that the Father has specifically given me for this country and her people.
I can not express the amount of joy that instantaneously filled me with just one glance. It was as nothing else mattered anymore. The only thing of importance was the Lord and the country he once again placed into my hands.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Help me pray for the short time that we have in my beautiful Perú. We’ve been waiting for military transport and staying in Chaclacayo (right outside of Lima). Today we fly! This evening we fly to Rio Tambo and the jungle for ministry. As far as we know we will be working with widows, orphans, and tribes people. Our ministry will look like skits, business classes, construction, and heavy on evangelism. This tribe is very welcoming to us and excited for us to come. They trust the words of our friend David, because the chief has given that authority.
I’m so excited! As I believe that the Lord is going to do some great things with us, PRAY! Pray that His Spirit will go before us and begin working on hearts that haven’t submitted to King Jesus’s Lordship yet. That when the good news of Jesus’s life and truth are presented, that these words of God will go out in boldness and be undeniable as truth. Pray that I would be a useful vessel for these next two weeks. That myself and our whole team will be in tune with the Spirit, Obedient to the Father’s voice, drenched in His Word, and fully submersed inJesus love that we may pour it out.
THE GOSPEL
It’s now time for the simple gospel to be presented. Nothing about denominational borders but simply this….
God created the whole world. Every thing was in perfect harmony, and people were in perfect harmony with God. But mankind was deceived by Satan, and chose disobedience, they chose what was good I their own eyes verses the truth that God had spoken to them. Because of this, because God is perfect and Holy and cannot be in the presence of sin, there was now a gap between humankind and The Creator. But God sent himself, God the Son, fully human fully man to earth from Heaven and its perfection. Jesus was born into this world and lived a perfect life, a sinless life. No one else has ever been able to do that. But because He was God, He was perfectly obedient to the Father and fulfilled all the laws that we as humans couldn’t. Because He was human, he stood in our place. He lived that perfect life, He suffered the punishment we deserve and was separated from the Father as God the Father’s wrath was poured out in all sin of those who would believe. Sin was destroyed, death was overcame as the Holy Spirit of God lifted Jesus to life. Our promise of eternity with God was proved by Jesus’s ascent into Heaven to be with the Father and prepare a place for believers, and it is sealed by the I dwelling of the Holy Spirit upon belief, confession, and surrender. The Holy Spirit has the power inside of you, as a new, clean, and righteous being to convict sin, comfort, give guidance, perform wonders. God the Spirit remains with us, and Jesus’s word lives on forever. Jesus will come back for us that He is preparing a place for. This is our hope, this is the truth.
Do you know the gospel yourself? Do you believe all of these words to be true and maybe you don’t know what to do from here? Reach out to me or another follower of Jesus and ask “now what?”
SUPPORTER’S CHALLENGE
My dear supporters and readers I am challenging you as my partners this month to boldly share the gospel at least once. I saw only once because once you feel the satisfaction of it, I’m hoping that you will be obedient to the Spirit and continue sharing. Do not quench the Spirit! When you have shared the gospel message me (email, Facebook, or Marco Polo) and tell me about it.
By the way I have all of your email addresses of you who are subscribed to my blogs, I don’t mind personally emailing you and holding you accountable.
We are colaborers with Christ, I want to see our family increase. It’s the Christmas season so working the gospel into conversation is that much easier for you now. By December 31st I expect for my inboxes to be flooded!
