Sing, O barren one, who did not bear; break forth into singing and cry aloud, you who have not been in labor! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of her who is married,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 54:1

“I’m losing control; my body, my soul
Are slowly fading away
But I’m ready now
To feel the power of change”

So I recently wrote a blog where I referred to a girl and gave her the alias name “Karla”. With her permission I am able to share her actual name now.

 Wendy

The Lord loves her so incredibly much, and so do I. I jokingly talked about packing her up in my bags and taking her to Ecuador with me when we leave this Sunday.

But really what brings me to writing my fourth blog this week is my favorite thing that has happened so far.

Last night after the church event at Ministerio Nueva Vida, Asambleas de Dios, Wendy surrendered her life to Jesus. She now has left her old life behind, and she is a new creation. I’ve never been more honored in my life than to be able to lead my sweet Wendy in a prayer of salvation. My King Jesus is now also her King Jesus.

She expressed to me last night that she has not desired the things that she used to and now delights and desires in going to church, and her heart is so happy. I asked if she was ready to say the prayer now, and she with a big smile said yes.

My sweet Wendy, I know that you are reading this. This road ahead as a Christian will not be easy. People will not understand why you’ve abandoned your old life behind. There will be times when the Lord asks you to do something and you don’t want to. But what is really happening in all of this is that the things that harm us, the things that don’t give us life that we are comfortable with are being stripped away so that we may be made more like Jesus, that we would experience full freedom and life, that we can love God more. He is good, and He is good to you, Wendy. He adores you because you are now his daughter. He will treasure you and will always choose what’s best for you, He will always fight for you, He will never withhold good from you. Seek community, choose to be around people that you trust to encourage you and hold you accountable. My prayer for you is that you will be a lady of God’s Word, that you will be a lady of His Spirit, a lady of prayer, a lady of worship, a lady of evangelism, a lady of forgiveness. I pray that you will be a lady who possesses the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), I also pray that you walk in many of the gifts that God bestows on his followers through His Holy Spirit. But above all, I pray that you remember forever who you are in God: His daughter, His beloved, the one He loves, the one He’s proud of, the one He delights in, the one He sings over, the one who is never a burden, the one He defends, the one He treasures.

I love you so so much Wendy! I can’t wait to keep in touch and to see you grow, and I hope to still be a part of that. Know that I’m always here to pray for you my dear, I’m always here to struggle through the hard things with you, and I’m always here to answer questions for you.
