Katie’s World Race 2018
Hello friends and family! I am so excited to share with you my upcoming journey starting in January 2018! As many of you know, humanitarian work is my heart and passion, specifically international missions. Many of you have supported me on my previous trips to Haiti and Guatemala and I am so grateful for those experiences because they have been a pivotal role in my life. Since graduating from college at Oklahoma State University with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, I have been back home in Colorado living with my parents and working. Though I was accepted into the International Studies graduate program at Oklahoma State, God revealed to me that he had greater plans in mind. In January 2018, I will be leaving to backpack for 11 months to 11 different countries! I will be going with a program called the World Race. The World Race is an interdenominational program through the organization Adventures in Missions. The WR exists to mobilize a generation of radical Christ followers, training them through discipleship and service to grow and establish the Kingdom of God. During these 11 months the ministry will differ depending on the country’s and community needs. The countries I will be traveling to include; Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda. If you know me, I have a very spontaneous soul and a fearless attitude but this is more than a personal desire of mine. God has been placing this on my heart over and over again since my Sophomore year of college. After reading His Word, praying, and doing a lot of research, I truly feel like this is a calling. For a while now I have been learning what it means to not only believe in Christ but to walk with Him. However, my focus on a personal relationship with the Lord has been put on hold for some time. I believe this journey will allow me to really focus on my personal growth and spiritual growth while serving ‘the least of these’. Much like how Jesus sent out His disciples, this is my Kingdom Journey and I can’t wait to share it with you all! With all that being said, this trip will cost about $18,100. For many that may seem like a crazy amount; however, this will cover 11 months of food, housing, insurance, AND travel. I am calling on my friends and family to become my prayer warriors and to please help me meet my financial goal. I am confident that if God is calling me to abandon my comfort zone for His sake that He will continue to provide for me in every aspect.
If you feel led to contribute to my trip please make donations using my blog link (http://katiearnold.theworldrace.org/) or by using the fundraising slip provided.
