Something the Lord has been teaching me about recently is the way in which He can use us despite how we feel.

I believe that often we opt out of doing things (activities, events, ministry), because we just don’t ‘feel’ like it. We believe the lie that if we aren’t in a good place personally therefore we can’t really help others, or the lie that we are just tired and therefore don’t feel like we have anything to give. But God doesn’t work through us based on how we feel, He works through us based on our willingness to allow Him to work through us.

When we are in that place of feeling like we don’t have anything to give, that is a clear indication that we are trying to ‘do’ out of our own strength. I truly believe that if we just show up with the expectation of seeing God move through us we will be astounded by what He can do, which we thought we could never.

I am most certainly not implying that we should say yes to every single opportunity that presents itself, but rather prayerfully consider what the Lord wants us to do and then proceed in obedience despite how we ‘feel’ that day or even if we feel qualified for it – for God equips the called.

God fills us with what we need for what He has called us to, for His power is made perfect in our weakness.

Quick update:

Our month in Malaysia was amazing! I happened to go to a lot of towns/cities that I went to previously on my trip last year and so I had the opportunity to meet up with previous friends and strengthen those relationships, as well as make a whole lot of new relationships in which we were able to love, encourage, support and share Jesus with. It is in fact illegal to share the gospel to a Malay person, so I do believe that lead me to be a bit more cautious in conversations, however if a Malay person asked us any questions about our faith we were permitted to share.

My friend Faith, who I met in August 2018

Malaysia is such a culturally diverse country where you’re able to be in one part of town that is clearly Muslim, another part of town that is Buddhist, another part that is more Chinese and another part that is known as Little India. It is so diverse, yet so peaceful. There is such a culture of honour and respect within this country that it allows it to be unified in such a beautiful way that I think a lot of countries are missing.

While being amongst the diversity, we made such amazing friends, and our team at the time got invited to two weddings, we went to a Malay Muslim wedding as well as an Indian Hindu Wedding. And they were both incredibly different, yet both celebrated community in such a beautiful way.

What’s next:

I am currently in Indonesia, and heading to South Africa & Botswana in 10 days! I will be finishing my time with this squad at the end of June. However I have not yet reached my fundraising deadline to stay on the field until then. There is also an opportunity in August/September for me to return to the squad to assist in scheduling and running a debrief time, as well as a Parent vision trip. Parent vision trip is an opportunity for parents of the squad to join them for a week and experience what life has looked like for them for the last year. I had the most incredible time having my mom come visit me in Thailand last year and it truly shifted so many things within our relationship, that I am so grateful for! And so I would love to be able to serve the squad in that same way in August. I would truly appreciate it if you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially (either monthly or once off), I am truly grateful for any support! God has already been so incredibly faithful in getting me where I am so far and I know that it doesn’t end here!

My deadline for another $3300 is the 25th May 2019.

Praise report:

The Lord is doing some awesome things here in Indonesia! While being here they have had their national elections and the president that is more accepting of Christian’s has remained in power which is a huge answer to prayer!

Prayer requests:

Please keep my squad in your prayers regarding health, unfortunately our girls team has really been struggling with various health related issues.

Blog about Indonesia coming soon!
