This past team time, everyone randomly chose a name and wrote a letter to that person. Emmy picked me, so here is her letter:
Dear Kaileigh,
I want to start off with I love you. I feel honored to know you and be able to call you my friend. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for letting me into everything God has been doing here on the race. Thank you for being my spell check whenever I need one and correcting me when I say a word wrong ha.
You have taught me to stand strong in who I am yet be willing to grow in any way God leads me to grow. To not be afraid to use my words but also to know the power each word can have. To take a step back and observe. To truly have each other’s backs when ever through whatever.
I am so proud of you for allowing God in to love you in Costa Rica and in South Africa. Letting him show you how to receive his love and how you became confident and full of joy when you did. You have let him show you how to love the team even when we can pretty weird, annoying, or just different. You have embraced ministry (through all the kids) and have found where you can make the most difference. You truly are as strong as a lion!
Anyways, all this to be said is that you are awesome. You hear God’s voice like no other and, most importantly, you listen to him. You make me laugh and enjoy the random moments. You are always there if I need a person to walk with me somewhere. For being my bus buddy on travel days. I love hearing your rants about whatever book you are reading and listening to my random rants.
To the people reading this you are lucky to know Kaileigh and watch out she is changing this world!
Emmy
