Right now, I am in the Fort Lauderdale airport writing this blog because my squad had a 7 hour layover…. which turned into a 2 1/2 hour delay. Our first day of travel hasn’t turned out quite exactly as planned. We hope to be in the Dominican Republic by the morning.
It is about 2 am in the morning and I have had about 8 hours of sleep in the past 24 probably more hours LOL. Traveling has messed up my sleep schedule, made me find almost everything to be extremely hilarious, and seriously consider my trust in God.
Trusting God can be very hard, especially in a season of uncertaint, which is what the World Race is. A lot of it is uncertainty.
We don’t always know if things will turn out the way we thought they would. Our first country changed from Haiti to the DR, our second country on our route is unknown, and our flight was delayed on our first travel day.
A lot of things are up in the air, but one thing us certain: God is trustworthy.
Your plans may not turn out the way you wanted them to.
You may end up in a different career choice, you may not end up dating the person you wanted, you may not even get an immediate, clear message from God about the season you are in. But, I can tell you this: God sees you and he hears you.
He has plans for you and they are good. (Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 84:11)
He does not withhold anything GOOD from you— in fact, he has something better.
I get to go a new country in month 2, I get to go to the DR early and work with a children’s ministry, and during our layover I got to grow closer and laugh so hard until I almost peed my pants with my squad mates.
And I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Because in these moments, I got to trust and rely on God.
Whatever you are going through, I promise it is worthy to trust him even when things are uncertain. You may find your dream job or find out your future spouse was right in front of you this whole time, but if you don’t trust God than you might miss out.
I wouldn’t want to miss out on the awesome things God could be doing in your life just because it didn’t go the way you planned. Be daring, be BOLD, and trust him with all your heart, mind, and soul.
He is good!
God bless,
Julia
