Two weeks ago I headed to Gainesville, Georgia (sadly Deshaun was not there. Go Tigers though) for Training Camp where I finally got to meet the 31 people that I’ll be spending the next year with and we got to learn a little more about this adventure we are leaving for in August. So what did I learn over the course of those 10 days?

K-Squad is the best and I can’t wait to dance and sing around the world with them. And I just love ’em a whole lot. Also I think our squad color is green because everyone is so ENVIOUS of us!!! AYOOO

Baby wipes and headlamps are quite possibly God’s greatest creations.

God made dirt, and dirt don’t hurt.

Rice is life, especially if you have allergies. Just ask “Jessica L. from K-Squad”

If everybody smells bad, then nobody smells bad. (That’s what I’m going with at least!)
Okay so those aren’t really the main things I took away from the past two weeks. But for real, how do I even begin to describe what those 10 days at Training Camp meant to me? I laughed. I cried. I lost my voice by day 4. I danced like a fool in front of a bunch of strangers. I experienced frustration, but also grace and love, like I never have before. I was pushed and stretched in so many ways, and I learned so much about myself and my squad.
The best part? The entire 10 days we were at TC I never once felt judged. Not when I was struggling to walk up a hill, or when I smelled bad, or even when I was singing at the top of my lungs (and I know how bad that sound is). These people love unconditionally and it’s really stinkin’ awesome. I didn’t have to try and impress anyone or try to look cool or like I had it all together. I was able to be 100% myself and IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! This group of 31 strangers that, honestly, I was kinda iffy about, became like a family and I am pumped to spend the next year with them by my side.
Not only did I get to meet my incredible squad at TC, but we also finally found the teams we will be with for the first few months on the field!
Marah, Sandy, Jessie (won’t be confusing at all), Emma, and Lakota!!
These girls have already taught me so much in the two short weeks I’ve known them. I know they are going to do huge things for the Kingdom, and I am honored to get to go alongside them and learn from them as we start this journey together in August!
Training Camp was amazing, and I have way too much to say about it for just one blog post, so hit me up if you want to know more because I’d love to tell you all about it.
Thanks for reading and following me on this crazy adventure. I can’t wait to share even more with y’all in the coming weeks leading up to the start of this journey!
