First and formost…. I AM FULLY FUNDED! You all have helped me raise $18,200! I can barley believe it, God has been SO incredibly faithful even when I wasn’t. I am beyond grateful for you partnering with me to spread the gospel, feed the hungry, clothe the children, heal the sick, mend the broken and all of you have helped me be the hands and feet of Jesus!!! AHHHHH! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Fundrarising is officially over and I have about 6 months left on the race! PLEASE continue to pray and follow my journey. I miss you all so much! Check out whats been going on the last few weeks!
Our time at the Lesotho orphanage ended too soon. Tears fell as goodbyes were said and memories continue to follow me into my next month.
Mornings were always filled with half woken toddlers roaming the hallways, until they saw us and their hands would raise up, waiting to be swept up into our arms. 33 bowls lined up on the counter and in the crisp morning they were filled with bread and after prayer were eaten one by one. Stomachs full, little hands grabbed us to be walked on a beaten path to school. Some of these mornings were peaceful and cool other mornings were chaotic enough to bring sweat dripping down our forehead. But I would go back in a heart beat, I would do anything to dance and sing and laugh with them again. To see their smiles and recognize their cry from another room. To sit with them and read the Bible together again. To ask God big questions and seek together His comfort.
Lord, may their hunger for your Word and Love grow deeper and deeper as they grow out of there broken shoes and step into all of life’ s challenges. May they remember they are no longer orphans because of Jesus’ sacrifice that brought all who believe in Him into a relationship with you, our Heavenly Father. God protect them and raise them up in your care. And God, may I see them again one day.
And so, with saying goodbye to Lesotho, team Vessels of Joy also had to part ways and say hello to some new teammates!
Vessels of Joy… Cae, Brynna, Sydney, Amanda and Hannah. Man, I love you guys and I’m blessed to say I’ve gained 5 life long friends from spending the last 4 months together! I can’t wait to see how God grows us these next few months with our new teams and ministry placements.
At debrief we found out our new teammates and after a short bus drive our squad crossed boarders and here we are! ESWATINI! (formally Swaziland).
My new team name is H20! (His Holy Offspring) I wanted to post a picture so you could see this epic team of mine… however African Wifi, for a lack of better words SUCKS. So be on the look out for a picture of their beautiful faces!
Theres Vicks who is our Beauty for Ashes and Worship Coordinator, Krista our Storyteller leader (who does awesome Vlogs! YAY), Brynna(AGAIN!) and Paige my lovely Logistic Leader…praise JESUS, Jenny our Treasure, and then Me the Team Leader!
In this new season I have had the honor to step into a Leadership Position as Team Leader for H2O. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and I’m ready to dive into whatever The Lord has for my team and I!
This month in Eswatini our entire squad is together living on a Homestead. We are partnering with Children’s Hope Chest through Adventures In Missions and we were prayerfully placed in Ministry throughout the organization.
Some are working at “Care Points” within the community, some with maintenance, agriculture, home visits, preschools, media and the SLA Disciple department! My squad mate Amanda and I have been placed in the SLA Department which is a program for training “Shepherds” to go out into the community and disciple the children in eSwatini.
When I first was told I would be in this department I was excited to dive into discipling! However, I found out that the work we were going to do was all administrative work! And then I was excited for a completely different reason! I absolutely love administrative work…at first it was really hard. Imagine beginning a 40 hour full-time job with absolutely no training! Thankfully the staff is kind and treats us like family. It’s been a huge perspective change to understand what goes on behind the scenes of big organizations doing missions work around the world. If you have heard of Compassion international or World Vision that have sponsor kids, Children’s Hope Chest is very similar, and I have had the honor to work with them!
Please be praying for the Lord to provide for this organization with finances and supplies. Pray that they will be able to train and equip the Swazi staff to become a thriving and self sufficient organization! Please also pray as I rise up into this role of Team Leader and may the Lord humble me and mold me into the Leader he created me to be. As well as my team, they are AWESOME! Pray for favor, that relationships cultivate and we can encourage and grow together in harmony!
I love you all! See you again soon
