God’s plan for me is greater than MY plan for me.

Four years ago, if you would have asked what I was going to do after graduating high school, 14-year-old me would have told you that I was going to work in Jackson, Wyoming that summer. I would’ve said I was going to move to Utah and attend Utah State University. That was MY plan, and that’s what I wanted to do with my life. It was set in stone. That was it!

But, as high school went on, I started a genuine relationship with the Lord. I started saying “yes” to His plan and His ideas for me. He introduced me to some of the best people ever. He led me to spend a month at Sharptop Cove on work crew. He showed me new things and ideas I would have never imagined!

As the Lord started guiding my steps, I started to listen.

John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

When I felt God calling me to the World Race I didn’t even hesitate to say “YES.” He told me to take a year off from school, leave everything I knew and found comfort in behind, and travel the world to pursue Him and show others His love. I didn’t hesitate. I screamed, “yes!” I ran to Him and yelled, “Yes! I will go!”

If you would have told 14-year-old Haven that, I don’t think she would have believed you. She might have said, “What? That is SO cool!” and it is!! Here I am now, 4 months before launch. It isn’t always easy, but I’m listening to Jesus’ voice and following God’s direction for me–the direction that ultimately satisfies.

I am living this life for Him and that really is so cool.

Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my Shepard, I lack nothing.
