so I wanted to do a “typical day in the life of me,” but every day is literally so different. instead, I’ve decided to tell you some cool/fun things I’ve done in ministry & just in general.

here we go:

* at one of the schools we went and talked about Jesus to they fed us breakfast every morning. one morning was chicken livers and rice. the best part that it’s apparently rude if you don’t eat all of your food. so i sat in front of this plate and silently said a prayer to Jesus that I wouldn’t throw up. the Lord answered my prayer and they told us we didn’t have to eat all of our food. it was hands down the grossest thing I’ve ever tried.

* while we were doing school visits, I had the privilege of giving one of the lessons. Elyse and I spoke about the fruits of the spirit. I told part of my testimony and the Lord was truly present. I hate doing anything that involves speaking in front of others, but Jesus gave me so much peace about it. It was so cool to see how intrigued the kids were and truly captivated by the Lord. He is moving in Jeffreys Bay.

* this past monday and tuesday Brooke and I got to lead one of the camps on our ministry site. there were only about 21 kids, but it was still so fun. we organized all the events and kept the kids to the schedule. we were also in charge of speaking and facilitating all the events and games. it was a lot of responsibility, but we crushed it. I surprisingly absolutely loved being in front of all the kids and the responsibility that I had. the Lord is making me bold and growing me in leadership.

* we presented the story of the good samaritan over 20 times. every single time I got something new out of the lesson that Jesus wanted me to hear. don’t get me wrong, it was reeeeaaal repetitive, but so good.

* octopus don’t bleed when you cut their head off, & their ink sack is very poisonous.

so back story to that one: we were on the beach and saw a man on the rocks hunting for octopus. we found one and he cut its head off because they are really dangerous. Elyse started playing with the ink sack and the man was like “uh that is very poisonous so maybe go wash your hands really well.” then he let us play with the tentacles that were unattached from the head. it was the coolest thing ever.

*  there’s a coffee shop here in Jeffrey’s Bay that we go to just about every single day called Machine, and we’ve become pretty good friends with the owners. they are probably some of the coolest people I’ve ever met. their coffee shop has truly been blessed by the Lord and it’s so evident. they give of themselves so much. they are constantly offering us rides to anywhere we need to go, they invited us over for christmas (literally after we met them 2 times), and they offer life advice and wisdom so freely. their coffee shop just feels like home and I love it. they also encourage me to follow my dreams and open a coffee shop. they even offered to teach me how to make good coffee and do cool latte art on my off days. ahh they are the sweetest.

* the other morning our queen of a ministry host, Tarina, wanted to take us to see the sun rise at a beach that’s too far to walk to. we woke up and left at 4:45 a.m. and she could only take 4 of us at a time. Elyse, Avery, me, and Molly were the first to go and as soon as we got there it started sprinkling. we decided to stay while she went to get the others. as soon as Tarina left it started raining pretty hard and it was literally so cold. we sat there shivering and wet until she came back. moral of the story, we didn’t get to see the sun rise that morning and we learned that sometimes God wrecks your plans. that makes me laugh about my future because I know He’s got something real cool for my life, cooler than what I have planned. my plans are gonna get wrecked!!!

well thanks for tuning in to my little blog. I’m learning a lot about myself & I’m currently trying to figure out how to put that into words. when I figure it out, you all will be the first to know. I love and miss you all.

xoxo,
