Jesus opened some pretty big doors today.
As my team walked around a busy market, we we stopped to watch street performing monkeys. Conversation with the locals turned into prayer.

“You have pain? Well I don’t have money to give you, but I do have Jesus.”

We prayed for one person.

Then another.

Then there were so many around us asking for prayer – for healing – that we broke up the team into groups to pray over them!

Backs, knees, shoulders – all healed in the mighty name of Jesus.

.

ALSO, the Bible was read aloud in Arabic by two men in the square.
.
It started when I prayed in Jesus’ name for one man. After which, I asked him, “How does your knee feel?” He moved it. It bent farther than before! No pain! He was surprised – I just smiled. “Praise Jesus!” I exclaimed. The joy! Then I prayed for another man. I heard the Spirit of Jesus whisper to me, and I asked Man #2 if he had unforgiveness towards anyone? He did not understand me at first, but called over the first man – still shocked by the healing – to translate. I handed my phone to the first man and asked him to read from my Arabic Translation of the Bible (YouVersion). He read the story of the Shepherd. As Man #1 read from the book of John, my heart soared. He paused only to describe with his hands what was depicted by the words on the page. “Shepherd” “pen” “door” “voice” “hear” – words I could see being universally described as his hand flitted about. It was beautiful.

At the end of the story, both men thanked me.
“It’s a good story.” Man #1 said, with genuine interest.
“Shukran. Shukran bsef!” Man #2 said as kissed both of my cheeks and forehead.
His prayer cap brushed my hair as he treated me with the sincerest respect of his culture.

After a couple of hours of praying for dozens of people, one young man gave his heart & life to Jesus. That night, my teammates went to his home and shared the gospel with his family. His sister also accepted the good news as Truth. What an incredible exhibition of His glory!

Thank you Jesus, for Your heart for Your children. Thank you for the spiritual hunger I see here and the unabashed desire this people has to see You move. The eagerness to pray and be prayed over – may I catch some of that eagerness! May it seep deep into my soul as I move to country to country. May my team and I continue to leave behind a trail of Your Glory! I love you, Jesus.

One last thing I would like to add: If you had told me the day before that I was going to be a part of God doing a mass healing in Jesus’ name, (between a mosque and a police precinct, no less) I would have hid in fear behind a million excuses. In reality, my part to play was simple – I just showed up.
