So I was listening to this song “Young Blood” and just wanted to share. (…NOT THE ONE by 5 Seconds of Summer – I’m way too cultured for that. KIDDING. Love who you love.)

I love this song because it’s folksy – I love the rhythm and the voice of the artist. But what I really love is that it portrays passion as something only Young People have – an inaccurate but common opinion – and something that should be preserved.
If you know and love the song, don’t let me tell you how to interpret it, but here is what I hear (with comments of Truth from the Holy Spirit).
Life’s hard. People won’t always accept you and you’ll have to try to cope alone. But don’t listen to the logic of those who have tried and failed and left it at “failed”. They, too, will attempt to cope, alone.
BUT.
Holy Spirit whispers: Don’t let drinking be your vice – let me be your vice. You don’t have to cope alone… Come to me when rejected – I will accept you! Come to me when discouraged – I will encourage you! Come to me when you’re hungry for Life – I have the BEST FREAKING ADVENTUROUS LIFE planned for you!

Fun story:
I met a girl on the beach while surfing the other day, then again ran into her again last night while walking around a marketplace miles away! It was neat because she was SHOCKED and I was all “This is a total God thing – totes the norm.” We set up a time to get together in the near future – this time on purpose. Later I found out yesterday was her birthday! and seeing me and my team again was a major and unexpected highlight for her. Please pray I’ll have the words to express God’s unfailing love for her!
