I believe in timing.
I believe in an All-Knowing All-Loving All-Powerful being, who is personal. I believe He put me here for a purpose, and I believe I found that purpose. No – it’s not to travel the world, although that may be a part of it. It’s to love God and people every day, despite and, possibly, because of all the pain and brokenness of this world.
I’ve actually known this was my purpose since I was small. It changed forms and fashions several times – from being the best sibling I could be to being the best ferret-owner I could be… but always looking for another, bigger way to please God and to make him smile. I love him. And how can I love him if I don’t love the people he loves???
So I started on a journey. I will be the best student I will be! Nope. FAIL.
I will be the best employee I will be! Eh… This is cool, but I’m not full! Also, isn’t there more I could be doing??
Maybe I’ll just be the best daughter of God I can be. I’ll pour out all my love and devotion at his feet and say “Whatever you want for me to do – I’ll do it. Forreal this time.”
Then my friend told me about the World Race.
And I got excited.
It’s almost as if I hit the target, and a secret door opened, revealing my destiny. This may seem dramatic to most, but to me, in my heart-of-hearts, I knew that was exactly what had happened. I had found my destiny – my next step. Now is my time!
I pray that whoever reads this blog and the following posts would be touched in one of three ways. I pray you are encouraged by what is written here – may God do the same in your heart and your life! Or excited – perhaps you will soon run your own race alongside our fellow Runners! And last but not least, entreated to join. I know the phrase is cliché and overused and even sometimes carelessly strewn, but please, please pray with me. Partner my journey with prayer and financial support. I cannot do this on my own strength (or wallet, since it is volunteer, only).
Please pray I have the courage and the capacity and the wisdom on this journey. Much is required and much is going to be gained eternally if you would just pray with me. Even Jesus needed prayer in the moments leading up the hardest night of his life. Please pray!
