This is my buddy Chance! Chance is 4 years old, he enjoys chasing turkeys, he thinks he is a lap dog, and he loves to cuddle!

Back at home we have an invisible fence for him. He has been trained and he knows he can’t leave our yard or else he will get shocked. He is trained so well that even if you take his collar off, he will still not leave the yard. When his collar is off he is free. He could run anywhere he wants, but he stays.

We are the same exact way.

We live in a broken world and are stuck in a fence of our sin. Each person has a different fence. Whether it’s shame, unforgivness, pride, or anything else, we all have something keeping us captive. But the amazing thing about this is that when Jesus died on the cross he took all of that sin away. The fence no longer has the power to hurt you. There is nothing holding you captive anymore. You can go free anytime you want. But sadly even though we have been set free we still stay stuck where the fence used to be. Though our sins have been forgiven we live like they are still holding us captive. But there is so much more to life when we truly let go of the things that have been holding us captive and we walk in the freedom that Jesus died for us to have.

Coming into the race I had a lot of unforgiveness that I had held onto for my whole life. It had been something that I had held onto for so long that it became normal for me. I didn’t even realize it was holding me captive. The first month and a half of the race I walked through a lot of healing and forgiveness, and was finally able to give it all over to the Lord.

Was it easy? Absolutely not.

Was it worth it? It 100% was.

After walking through the process of healing and forgiveness am finally able to run free. There is no fence holding me captive, and let me tell you, it is the most amazing feeling. If there is something holding you captive give it to God. It’s not going to be easy, but the freedom that will come will be worth every second of the process.
