I’m elated to be writing this update from my favorite city, Siem Reap! Last February, I lived and served here with my World Race squad. I fell in love with this country, the culture, and missions during that time. The heat index reaches almost 110 degF, daily, so the fresh smoothies, fried ice cream, and iced lattes on the streets, surely tug at my wallet. We are here for just two days, as a detour on our way to Bangkok, Thailand. Once we arrive, tomorrow night, we’ll be staying at a hostel in the city for 5 days for a debrief. This retreat-of-sorts is meant to create a space for reflection on the past and casting vision for the future. I loved debriefs on my race, becasue there was always time to sneak away and find local markets and coffee shops. 😉
This week marks half way for the trip. My goodness… so many mixed emotions. Truthfully, I am not ready to come home, so I’m glad that there is still some time ahead. Leaving Cambodia definitely hurts my heart a bit. I can’t really explain why I love this place so much, but it just feels like home.
Yesterday we said goodbye to our incredible ministry hosts, Vuthy and Courtney. These two wear many hats in their community and truly rely on their faith in God to provide all of their needs. And for the last 10 years, with many hard obstacles, He’s always provided. Their walk with the Lord really inspired me and I feel very encouraged to just live a life with audacious faith. With that comes audacious freedom.
Nothing more to say today. I’m happy and healthy and walking in a lot of gratitude.
Bless.
Hannah
