Since coming on the World Race, I have had several people, back at home and on the field, affirm the change they’ve noticed in me. From someone who has long idolized achievements, compliments and being acknowledged for anything good, this has been somewhat triggering for me. The Lord has revealed that I have struggled a lot with the desire to be perfect. And with that came a lot of buried insecurity and anxiety. But, becasue of this exposure, I have made many healthy decisions in trying to alter my thought process, which consumed my mind for many years, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. So yes, I have changed, but I’d prefer to give the glory to God, and state that I am becoming the woman He originally created. And with that being said, I thought it would be fun to share some of the things I really am liking these days:)
- early mornings
- quiet music: Christian, acoustic, country
- reading the bible
- time alone
- shifting my focus on shopping for “stuff,” and now looking for sustainable and practical products, as well as art
- reading
- being outside
- natural light
- tea
- braided hair
- running, push-ups and ab routines
- peace
- dreaming with God
- journaling
- intentional conversations with those I love
- talking about ending global poverty
- learning about culture
- listening to Jazz music, it reminds me of Disney’s Boardwalk, Disney’s Grand Floridan and the Grand Hotel
- praying
- talking about Michigan and Mackinac Island 🙂
