Hello! Sorry it has been AWHILE since I updated this blog! Seems crazy, but I am already home from Costa Rica! I wanted to post an update about what we did in our time there and what this season was for me.
We got to Costa Rica in September and left the first week of December. My squad this time was much smaller than my original squad. There are 24 racers, with four teams. It was so fun being part of a small squad.
My team worked with an organization that focused on anti sex trafficking. This was my favorite ministry that I have ever been a part of. Most of our time was spent building relationships. We would spend the mornings with the women having a devotional, sharing coffee and breakfast, and just getting to spend time with them getting to know them and love on them. On Friday nights my team would do night ministry on the streets, giving out coffee, building relationship and covering people with prayer and just getting to spend time together, meeting people where they’re at, showing them they are valuable, and seen by their creator. I saw in this time what Jesus meant when he said Church. Working with this ministry was such a gift. Ill always hold this time and people so close to my heart, its hard to share about it in words, it was so special.
This season of team leading has been one of my most favorite seasons of life so far. The father did so much more than I ever expected out of this time. Hes always giving in such abundance. I think this season was so different than my race because I was walking in all the growth the Lord brought me through on my race. It felt like I was really living as who he calls me and leading and living out of that place. It didn’t feel as if I was striving, it was just A LOT of fun. It reminded me how fun life with Jesus really is. I also got to lead this squad alongside some of my best friends and doing this with them was the greatest. I expected to go into this season and pour out so much. But what I received from this squad was incredible. The way they loved on me and shared their gifts with me was such a blessing. Seeing the Lord in these men and women and getting to receive what they carry was the biggest gift. The Lord taught me so much just by being in their space.
I learned so much about what it means to be a leader and how to steward well the influence the Lord has given me. Ive realized how much I love discipleship. One of my favorite things was watching people choose kingdom, and getting to celebrate and rejoice with them. Being a part of just walking with others in their own journey with the Father, in the good and hard, and getting to listen to the Holy Spirit and be used by him in that process. It was a gift to grow in my own relationship with Him in this time, but also encourage others and give away what the Lord has given me. Leaving was so, so hard, but I’m thankful for that. I could say so much more about how much I loved this time, but I am so thankful for these three months and all the Lord did and the people he brought into my life.
Please join me in continuing to pray for Gap Z as they continue their World Race! They are currently in Cambodia for three months and will go to Swaziland in March for the last three months! Pray for their continued yes, against any attacks from the enemy, and to keep pressing into the fathers love! The Lord is doing big stuff in and through them!! I would also love your prayers as I transition home and begin this new season with the lord.
I want to say a BIG thank you to each of you who supported my race and team leading! Whether you read blogs, prayed, or financially supported, I am thankful for YOU. Seriously, thank you for choosing to partner with the Lord. If you have any questions or want to hear more about what the Lord has done this past year, please reach out, I would love to share!
