This month we are working at an orphanage called Agape Home! Our team was really excited coming into this month. Agape is a children’s home for kids with HIV/ AIDS. The kids there range in age from 1 month old to high school age kids. This month has been really, really special.

Every day looks pretty different. In the mornings we spend our time doing some type of manual labor. We make jump ropes for Samaritans purse or just clean up different areas around the home. During that time, we’ve built some really good community. My team is working with another team this month and there was a YWAM team working with us for awhile too. Sitting and tying jump ropes for hours gave us the opportunity to have good conversation with each other. We talked about what the Lord is doing, future plans, and sang a whole lot.

The afternoons are my favorite part of the day. After lunch we get time with the kids! Were usually with the babies and toddlers. Almost everyday we go swimming with the kids, it has been so much fun. They aren’t afraid to go wet and pull you in with them. Its given us a chance to just act like little kids again for a couple hours.

These kids are just full of so much joy. Everyday they have the biggest smiles on their faces. At the beginning they were a little timid. They wouldn’t even look us in the eyes. But now, we get the biggest smiles and hugs and high fives. Everyday they’re so excited to see us. The father has really given me a heart for these kids. The world has labeled them HIV and thats all they are to the world. But what an opportunity we’ve had this month to truly be Jesus to these kids. To love on them and show them they are worth of so much love, that they are more than what they’ve been told in the past, and show them how much Jesus loves them even when we don’t speak the same language. I look in their eyes and I see Jesus.

So, we might be leaving in a few days, but I know for sure God isn’t. He’s reminded me of that. So for now, all I can do is pray. Pray for a future, and a firm foundation on the father that they can carry with them their whole lives. I can pray for them to know their identity, that they would know who the father says they are. I can pray that they are hopeful and don’t give up. The Lords doing something special in these kids. What a blessing its been to be a part of it.

Thank you all for your prayers and support in my journey! Were about to start month 7! This time next week well be in Africa already! Please keep my squad and I in your prayers as we finish up our time in Asia and travel to Africa!
