In my last blog people asked questions so here are the answer! enjoy!
1. What has been your most meaningful experience so far?
In Guatemala we became very close with our host and his family, Chris their youngest son became one of our very close friends, we knew that chris was graduating high school soon and we were so happy for him, we ended up being invited to his graduation and it was so sweet, and full of love, we went to the graduation and then to dinner after, it was such an amazing experience and I’m so glad I got to have it!
- What has been your favorite food?
My favorite food so far has been this wonderful pad Thai that I got almost every night from a night market in Thailand my first month there. There wasn’t anything special about this pad Thai, it was delicious but what really made it good was the man who made it for me, even though we had a giant language barrier we still communicated through this and he knew my order by the end of it and his face every time that I came was the reason I went back every time that was what made it my favorite food.
- What is the first thing you will do when you get home?
This is a hard one, I have thought about it so many times but honestly I don’t know, I’m going to hug my momma, see all of my sweet friends, and probably take the longest nap of my life.
- How have you seen/felt the Lord’s presence most during your most difficult days?
I have felt the presence of the Lord the most in those days because I knew that I had to depend on him because I knew that he was the only one that was going to give me the answers that I needed.
- On a scale of 1 -10 how much have you really missed not having your phone?
Honestly not that much, I miss being able to talk to everyone when I please but I have an awesome team who I can talk to if I need anything shoutout to my huzzomies, so probably like a 4 being 1 the least.
- How has the LORD grown you through this time?
OH goodness Abba has been moving up in this girl, I came into this thinking eh I’m not going to be that different when I get home but its so much more that just being different spiritually I have changed so many of the ways that I view things because of what the Lord is doing. He has grown me through patience, love, and gentleness. And he has showed me that my past doesn’t define who I am going to be when I get back home.
- How do you plan on using your experiences/teachings/situations in your day to day life when you return home?
As of right now I am planning on going to school and becoming an elementary school teacher, hopefully I will be able to spread the love of the Lord in the work place and also be able to love on the kids that I will eventually teach and show them Jesus through my actions.
- Do you feel that God has given you this travel opportunity for a specific reason?
Yes, I think that he has given me this opportunity to find my identity in Him and not worldly things. Yes, we all slip up time and time again, but the Lord wanted me to know that even when we slip up he’s still going to be there with us and he’s not going anywhere.
- What’s your favorite and/or least favorite Myanmar food.
To be honest I don’t really enjoy the food here but my favorite food has been, this fried chickpea thing that one of our students gives us.
- What’s been your favorite culture you’ve experienced on the Race so far?
My favorite culture I have experienced has probably been Guatemala, the way that Guatemalans love one another and love their families is beautiful, they also have deep roots with their heritage, the outfits are beautiful, and the food is amazing.
