“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” -Psalm 119:105

I woke up at 5:30am to go see my first Australian sunrise. I was half asleep as I made my way down the dark streets to the beach, but it was so worth it. There was no one else there when my friend and I arrived, and all we could hear were the waves gently crashing along the shores as the sky turned lighter with a hint of pink. As the sun slowly made its way over the horizon just beyond the lighthouse, God reminded me of just like how He slowly brings the world out of darkness and into the light every morning, He is also that light in my life.

When I first found out about who Jesus was in college, the Bible and the words in it didn’t make much sense. Over the years though, I’ve experienced a personal relationship with Him and learned that He isn’t just some distant entity but a good, good Father. His words don’t just make sense in a split second, but instead it has been a gradual process. Just like how the sunrise slowly turns darkness into light, God has also been transforming my heart slowly but surely so that I see the world and people through His eyes more. As I’ve had the chance to spend more time in His word on this trip since I don’t have to rush off to work or run errands, I’m thankful that I’m learning to find more truth and wisdom that has been there all along.

Below is a recap video of my time in Australia. More updates to come from Indonesia!
