I’m back from my 10-day training camp in Gainesville, Georgia! It was a great time of meeting my teammates and preparing myself for the long journey ahead. It was amazing to witness so many brothers and sisters together in one place with the same mission in mind. It was also challenging physically, mentally, and spiritually as we had packed days filled with worship, engaging speakers, thought-provoking topics, and real-life scenarios from the mission field (not to mention my tent getting flooded!). We discussed in our teams about the importance of reflection, community, forgiveness, strategic evangelism, conflict resolution, prayer, and so much more. I was convicted of the fact that there are so many areas in my life that I need to continue to work on, but also grateful that God does not wait until we are perfect before He uses us for His glory.

While at camp, we were divided up into smaller groups, which are the teams that we will be serving with for the first few months on the field in our respective ministries. My team wanted a name that would exemplify a spirit of boldness and remind us that in the face of challenges, we would be fearless and unashamed of the Gospel. With that, Team Shameless Audacity was born, and I’m so excited to serve alongside these fierce ladies. We even found a team verse, Luke 11:8, which says “I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.” Audacity is defined as being daring and even reckless, so what’s stopping you from being daring in your pursuit of Christ? Jesus urges us that we need to live our lives with boldness, passion, and conviction, especially when it comes to our prayer lives, so let’s dare to live and pray in such a way that would make people around us question why we live in a way that sets us apart.

I will be flying out on January 12th to Atlanta, Georgia for a few more days of training with my squad before we officially launch into our 11-month Expedition on January 16th. With only a couple months left at home, I hope to catch up with as many of you as possible before I head out!
