This blog is my daily schedule for my time here in Guatemala. The days are long and filled with challenging things, like eating beans for breakfast, visiting one more house when you’re just ready to be done for the day, and taking cold showers. But the hard moments are so worth it when you’re standing in front of 25 students and that you’ve just taught to tell each other “Jesus te ama”. Overall, I have loved my time in Guatemala and excited to continue ministry here for 9 more weeks!

Notes and explanations:

The AIM base employs 2 cooks who make us breakfast and dinner Monday-Friday. Lunches are sandwiches (peanut butter and jelly, chicken salad, tuna salad, ham and cheese, egg, peanut butter with honey and banana) that we make our selves. We also get a fruit (apple, orange) and a snack (chips or cookies)

Deep dive: This happens twice a week and is essentially a Bible study lead by the base elders, Kevin and Tonya.

Journey markers: You would have seen this under Tuesday nights team time. This is a small devotional with various questions used to document our spiritual growth on the field. The questions are different every week and always make me think about things and in ways that I don’t typically.

Activation: Activation is ministry and spiritual discipleship training taught by the AIM base staff. After the teachings we go out in teams and put into action, typically by doing door-to-door, what we’ve spent the morning discussing.

Come December when I move to Thailand my schedule will change, but for now this is a glimpse into the past 3 weeks and the next 2 months. Hope this gives everyone at home an idea of what my days look like on the field!

For anyone wondering, I am still in need of $1400 to complete my fundraising and to stay on the field. If you feel lead, you can make online an online donation here on my blog. Thank you so much to all who have followed my blog and are commenting on it. It’s so fun to get on every Saturday and read your comments, they make me smile! It means so much to me to know that family and friends are following along with me on this journey!
