Hi Everyone!!
First, thanks for taking the time to read my first blog EVER!!! I cannot believe I am sitting here writing about going on the WORLD RACE!!!! Incredible!
A little history…about 4 years ago I learned about the World Race, and I was so intrigued as this is something my heart was drawn to! I researched it over and over and even reached out in late 2014 to get more information about upcoming routes….
Although I did my due diligence and really wanted to go, it wasn’t the Lord’s timing. He was calling me to serve locally/my community…And so I followed….The Lord called me to become a foster parent, so I did, and 8 months after going through training, inspections, home studies, background checks on me and Charlotte (my dog), etc…I was approved, and was a foster/respite home for over a year! More details on the foster experience in a later blog….
But here we are, 3 years later and the World Race is still tugging at my heart. Over the last 6 plus mouths, I found myself pulling up the website and praying over the decision. Weeks ago, I knew it was now or never, so I took the leap and nervously applied! Half of me applied with excitement and the other half was full of confidence I wouldn’t even get accepted! But here I am, accepted and have the opportunity of a lifetime to share the gospel and serve thousands of people, from all walks of life, culture, religion, in 11 different countries, for 11 months!!!!!
Knowing He’s called me to this opportunity to be in the field, boots on the ground, being His hands and feet overwhelms my heart with joy, excitement, and of course a little fear and anxiety is mixed in there too…
But let’s be real, those who know me know I do not follow a “traditional” or “conventional” path…I follow, with conviction, what I feel called to do!!! And I have no doubt in my mind I am supposed to be on this journey!!
I believe we are all here for a purpose, and we are all called to love and serve others. There is no better feeling than that of feeling content when I’m serving and focusing on others…and the World Race takes this to another level!
Thank you for taking the time to read my very first blog EVER….I’m asking for you to partner with me, encourage and support me through prayer as well as any financial support you feel called to give.
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let with I cannot do interfere with what I can do!
Isaiah 58:10 “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.”
Thank you so much for your love, prayer, support, and encouragement! It’s going to be an incredible, yet challenging year…and I can’t wait to share my journey with you!!
In love,
Emily Cate
