Our team name is YEET. It stands for, ‘Young Evangelists Everyday Together’. Not going to lie, I didn’t like our team name at first, but now I love it and I wouldn’t change it for the world. Sure it’s silly and last minute, but that doesn’t matter. Team YEET is Sydney, Braiden, Claire, Emma, Maeci, Anna, and Cammy. That’s how I will always remember team YEET; not by the name, but by the people that make up this team that I get to call my family in Christ.

As our time on the race is coming to a close I’ve been thinking about the lessons I’ve learned and the things that have impacted me the most. One of the things that has impacted me is community. We all have different roles in the body of Christ. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned about community it’s how important, strong, and amazing it is to come together with all of our different gifts to bring kingdom. Everyone of my lovely teammates has a different way of bringing kingdom and when we come together we are able to see a bigger picture of who God is and share Christ with others. I wanted to share with you these gifts that each of my teammates have and the lessons I’ve learned from them.

This is my tribute to team YEET. This is what I’ve learned from each one of my teammates…

  • SYDNEY: Sydney has taught me so much about leadership and strength. She carries a light inside of her that cannot be contained. She runs this race (literally the World Race, but also the race of life) with strength and perseverance. She doesn’t give up easily when it’s hard and walks by faith. She genuinely cares, loves, and expresses kindness to everyone she meets. Not only that, but she leads with such intentionality, desire, and humility. Her God given gifts make everyone feel welcomed, known, acknowledged, and loved. It’s been so amazing to see her step out in her gift of leadership, exercise her strength in the Lord, learn, grow, and be an example to those around her.

  • CAMMY: Cammy has reminded me the importance of letting go of control. Cammy has this trust in the Lord that is indescribable. She isn’t worried about tomorrow, the future, or anything, instead she lives her life based on faith and trust in the Lord. Because of that she’s able to walk in truth, hear the Lord’s voice clearly, and act on the Lord’s voice. This gift of extreme faith and letting go of control has encouraged me to let go and let God. Although, Cammy has many other gifts from the Lord she lives her life like the Lord asked us too in Matthew 6:25-34. This is what draws people to the Jesus inside of her. It’s truly inspiring and beautiful how she brings kingdom.

  • BRAIDEN: Braiden has taught me the love of our Father. Braiden is lovely both inside and out. She radiates love and never ceases to discover how to make the other person feel loved. Not only does she love with her whole heart, but she seeks people out in order to remind them of their place in the Father’s heart. I’ve seen how the Lord has used her gift to make the foreigner feel like they are at home, the unloved to feel loved, and to bring comfort and joy to those who have lost hope. The way she loves the Father and others is a perfect depiction of the Father’s love for all of us. Braiden truly strives to live out the great commandment and excels at it through the outpour of love that God has put within her.

  • CLAIRE: Claire has taught me about patience. Man, does this girl know how to have patience. She’s slow to anger, slow to speak, and abounding in love. She strives to love by simply taking her time to build relationship, understand, and have patience even in the most stressful and unlikeliest of times. It’s been amazing how God has used this simple gift to show Jesus and the power patience can have. Her patience makes others feel noticed, loved, acknowledged, and understood which is what every human being wants to feel. She is able to walk in the Lord’s footsteps and bring kingdom like Jesus did by simply noticing others basic needs.

  • EMMA: Emma had shown me a lot about wisdom. Emma is one of the wisest woman I know. She mediates on the word daily and from that she speaks truth and life into others. She intently listens to the Lord and acts on His voice. Her words carry so much weight. When she speaks others listen. When words come out of her mouth she’s so uplifting and honest. If anything she is the mouthpiece in the body of Christ; speaking exactly what the Lord wants to say and respresenting Him in that way. The Lord has used this gift of wisdom that she has to not only impact so many people around the world, but also our team and the squad.

  • MAECI: Maeci has taught me so much about leadership. If anyone on our team leads the way that Jesus does it’s definitely Maeci. She is a humble leader that chooses to lead from behind. She’s more concerned about a person‘s heart and their walks with the Lord then about getting praise or a title. She not only leads from behind, but she listens to the heart of others and seeks out the lost. Maeci truly follows the Lord’s example by leaving the 99 to find the one lost soul. Not to mention, she also leads by serving. Serving and humbling herself before others is what brings her joy, blesses others, and how she brings kingdom. She always turns her face to the Lord and gleaning from his example.

  • ANNA: Anna has taught me so much about confidence. This girl has so much confidence in the Lord and it shows. Because of her confidence in the Lord she’s determined to walk in the path of righteousness, not give up, and see from a higher perspective. She trust God’s strength more than her own and has confidence in His promises. Her confidence radiates Jesus’ light. She is an example of not leaning on her own understanding, but on His alone. Even though not relying on her own strength isn’t main steam she uses that opportunity to share the gospel. She is uses her gift of vulnerablity to relate with others on a level most people can’t. Her confidence in her testimony, struggles, and vulnerability is what opens the door to other people’s hearts. Her approachability and strong faith in the Lord encourages others more than words can say.

These are my teammates. We each have a special and unique gift that is very much needed in the body of Christ. Through this team of sisters I’ve seen how each of our gifts have build off of each other, encouraged, strengthened, shown love, and touched people’s hearts right where they’re at. I’m so thankful for this wonderful group of girls. I’m thankful that we get to use our gifts to bring kingdom and that we have a small, special, and important role in the body of Christ. Praise Jesus for community!
